Tin of Cards Alternative Ideas

StampinUp Tin of Cards alternative ideas made by demo Beth McCullough. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demo since 2003.  I used to do classes in my home, but a few years ago I stopped doing them.  Thankfully, some of my friends have encouraged me to start up again.  My first class was two weeks ago and I did a Tin of Cards class.  Well, I have some very creative friends and customers and we came up with some alternative ideas.  I’m just now finishing off all the cards from my kit.  Because I’m trying to send everyone a birthday card this year, inspired by Shannon West’s mission, “#imbringingbirthdaysback,” I’m making mostly birthday cards. See Shannon’s story here

I’d love to send you a card in the mail! Please email me your name, address and birthday and I’ll send you a homemade card around the time of your birthday.  bethmcc6@gmail.com

This week I’m having a Paper Pumpkin class.  Here’s some of the cards we’re making.

StampinUp Paper Pumpkin Feb 2016. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

Paper Pumpkin is a wonderful craft experience in a box for only $20 per month.  If you sign up by April 10 you get an exclusive stamp set in addition to one of the regular stamp sets contained in each Paper Pumpkin.  See a Paper Pumpkin video here.  If you purchase your Paper Pumpkin through me, the monthly class is free.  For those in the Des Moines area, my next class is Thursday, April 7!  Please let me know if you’d like to come.

I’ll post more Tin of Cards Alternative ideas over the next couple days.

My youngest pup, Molly has been sick for a couple days.  Think graphic and messy.  Well $150 later, I’m so relieved she doesn’t have cancer.  She did get a shot and pills and I think she’s starting to feel better already. Maya and Molly have a therapy dog visit to make on Friday, so I hope she will be able to go.  The Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities we visit love Maya and Molly and I hate to disappoint them.

Tissue Paper Flowers

It’s time for another challenge at Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog.  This weeks challenge is to create a project with tissue paper.  Well I own tissue paper, but have never used it before.  The flowers and leaves are all made with Stampin’ Up! Cherry On Top Cotton Paper Assortment (tissue paper)  I can’t believe how fun and easy it is to make these flowers.  I used the Pansy Punch and cut 4 Watermelon Wonder flowers.  For the yellow (Crushed Curry) flowers, I used the Petite Petals Punch. Use a mini brad to keep them all together in the center and crunch them.  Yep, that’s all there is to it.  I will be making more tissue paper flowers in the future.

For the layout, I used #PPA294.

I almost always make a card with someone in mind to receive it.  This time I didn’t, so if you want it, please leave me a comment at the top of this post.  I’ll draw a name and send it to you.  You may need to unscrunch the flowers after it travels through the mail.

Do you all have your flowers and gardens planned for this year?  I can’t wait!  I love growing flowers and also have seven small vegetable beds.  One is Abby’s and she usually grows pumpkins.  I have one tiered bed for strawberries.  One large bed of raspberries.  I usually go out early every morning and pick these.  I like them so much, I’m not sure my family knows we have a raspberry bed, because raspberries rarely make it into the house. 🙂 The rest of the beds are for vegetables and herbs.  One of my goals this year is to learn how to preserve the herbs in the fall so we can enjoy them all winter.  I also want to start some tomatoes and other vegetables from seed in the house and I have never done that before. If you have any herb or vegetable tips, please let me know.  I would love to hear them.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

You make my heart happy!

Bermuda Bay is my favorite color.  Have you noticed Stamping Mom’s dress and shoes are Bermuda Bay?  Yep and my favorite sandals in real life are also Bermuda Bay.  Here’s a picture of them.

I don’t own a Bermuda Bay dress with Melon Mambo polka dots, however.  Anyway, my point is when I saw Bermuda Bay was in this week’s Global Design Project, I knew I needed to play along.

This week’s Use your stuff challenge is to use Pop Dots, which is what Stampin’ Up! calls Stampin’ Dimensionals.  Since I use these on almost every card, it wasn’t hard to play along with this challenge.

So are you wondering who gets this card?  Super Man (my husband Steve) is the one who makes my heart happy!  He’s been traveling a lot lately and I really miss him.  The next time he goes on a trip he’s going to find this card hidden in his suitcase!  Good thing he doesn’t read my blog.  Abby and Sean read my blog, so kids don’t tell him.

Please subscribe to my blog if you haven’t already.

If you have a question or comment you can leave it for me at the top of this post.  I so appreciate hearing from you!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂
