Today is the first time I’m hosting a challenge as a designer for the Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog.  The challenge this week is to use your favorite punches.  Please join us here. #UYS219

For the card above, I used the Owl Builder punch for the little heart.  Everything else is made with the Stampin’ Up Sprinkles of Life stamp set and the Tree Builder punch.  The colors are Daffodil Delight, Watermelon Wonder and Bermuda Bay.  This card was cased from Mary Fish.  I still don’t have all my #imbringingbirthdaysback cards made.  A bunch of cards are going out this week, so please be patient if you’re waiting for yours. 🙂

Cherry on Top Designer Washi Tape helped make this card quick and easy. This card was cased from Chris Slogar.  I think Chris’s card was what convinced me I had to have this set and punch.  It makes such a happy scene.

I made this card to fit in a business size envelope 9 1/2 x 4.  I needed lots of room to get both baby bundles hanging from tree branches.  Design assistant Abby, wondered why the baby boy twin card wasn’t blue? That’s a very good question!  Super Man’s friend (Dad of the twin baby boys) works at Iowa State and is a huge Cyclone fan, so I needed to use Iowa State colors.  Congrats on the sweet baby boys! Super Man and I are excited to come up to Ames and babysit the twins!  I found several baby bundle cards on Pinterest, but this is the first twin baby bundle card.

I used Silver Glimmer Paper to make the clouds with the silver lining.  The envelope is lined with Fancy Foil Designer Vellum.

I entered this card in the Crafting From The Heart Challenge blog-Anything Goes

I used the Sunday Stamps Challenge to do the layout for this card. #SSC124.  This one is Abby’s favorite!  I also entered this card in the Craft Your Passion Challenge– Anything Goes.

Well, do you have a favorite from the five cards I made using Sprinkles of Life and the Tree Builder Punch?  Please leave a comment at the top of this post.  I love hearing from you!

It was beautiful in Iowa this weekend. Abby and Keegan took advantage of the summer like weather by having a squirt gun fight on the trampoline, followed by a water fight with dueling garden hoses.  I love it that my kids are good friends and have a lot of fun together.  I hope all four of them stay close their entire lives.

Do you see all the hostas coming up under the trampoline?  I grow them there and then move them where I want them in the yard.  I really like the hostas under the trampoline.  It used to be just a dirt patch.  To the right of the trampoline is where Abby has her pumpkin patch each year.

Super Man and I got lots of yard work done this weekend.  Keegan helped him rebuild the mailbox planter box and they installed my new wind catcher from Costco.

Hope you had a wonderful weekend!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

I love making boxes! I got the idea for this box from Pootles, a UK demo.  Do you see the triangles on the side?  In real life, this box is adorable! I made these Faceted Mother’s Day boxes for my Mom and Steve’s Mom.  They are about two inches tall and three inches wide, so there’s plenty of room for chocolate or a gift certificate.  Have you thought about what you are making for the special “Moms” in your life?

When I showed the boxes to my design assistant, Abby, she said, “Oh did you make those boxes for yourself, because you’re the best mother ever!.”  I love my seventeen year old daughter and I think she’s the best daughter ever!

More Tin of Cards- Alternative cards

I had one more card to make from my Tin of Cards kit when I noticed that this week’s Use Your Stuff Challenge  is to use Kraft cardstock.  Fab Friday’s Color Challenge this week is Calypso Coral, Pool Party, and So Saffron.  I combined the two challenges and created this card.  It’s hard to tell in the picture, but the butterflies are heat embossed with Iridescent Ice embossing powder.  Each butterfly also has 3 pearls down the center.

I wanted a matching polka dot envelope so I used the Designer Series Paper Stacks-Subtles.

Here’s some more cards from the Tin of Cards kit.  Yes, Janeen, these are yours!  Janeen and her very talented sixth grade son were at my Tin of Cards class, but didn’t have time to finish before they needed to leave for soccer practice. I finished these three for them. Note to everyone who comes to my classes- if you want me to make some of your cards for you, just say you need to go to soccer practice and I’ll get the rest done for you. 🙂  Hope you like them Janeen!  I’ll drop them off today!

Super Man took Keegan to our Okoboji Bible camp this weekend to help the camp get ready for the summer.  Unfortunately Super Man got super sick.  We think he got food poisoning. (Not from the camp, but from a restaurant they went to Saturday night.) Super Man drives a manual transmission car and decided to teach Keegan a little bit on how to drive it on Saturday morning.  Good thing, because after his short lesson yesterday, Keegan had to drive Super Man all the way home today.  He only stalled three times on a four hour drive.  Not bad for day two of driving with a stick shift!  Keegan is 15 and has a driving permit.

Abby and I stayed home because she had vocal concerts on Friday and Sunday and she babysat her four favorite boys on Saturday night.  The three year old told her she was his best friend!  That made her day!  Her vocal concerts were really good too!  Hope you had a good weekend!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂
