I didn’t become a coffee drinker until last year.  Not sure how I made it through college without it.  My very favorite coffee is Kona Vanilla Macadamia Nut.  My favorite coffee shop is Mahalo’s Coffee shop in West Des Moines, IA.  It’s a Hawaiian themed coffee shop that is adorable and smells so good.  They make doughnuts in the shop, hence the good smell, but I don’t actually eat them.  If you live in the Des Moines area, I’d love to meet you at Mahalo’s.  Are you a coffee drinker?  What’s your favorite?

These Coffee Cups Framelits make these cards fun and easy to make.

I love giving gift cards to the kid’s high school teachers because they totally don’t expect it! (Plus they deserve it!)

Well, we put the “W” flag away for the winter.  The Chicago Cubs had a good run and we look forward to next year!

Steve’s Birthday is this week, so our sweet Ryan came home from college to rake leaves and go to a movie with Steve.  He loves having Ryan as his “wing man.”  We don’t do much with presents, but I bought something for Steve three months ago and hid it.  The best part is, I remembered I had done that and actually found it and wrapped it up this weekend.  The reason I’m a little shocked the present thing worked out, is because I do have some memory difficulties.  I had cottage cheese before going to church and when we got back home, Steve found this in the cabinet.

LOL  OK, so I meant to put it in the refrigerator.  🙂

On a more positive note, I’ve been making roast beef in the crock pot once a week.  Since Ryan was coming home, I made this on Sunday.  It’s chuck roast cooked on low in the crock pot all day, with caramelized onions, havarti cheese on sour dough bread.  Everyone was pretty much in tummy heaven.  I think they’ll keep me around for awhile longer, even though I occasionally store the cottage cheese in the cupboard!

Please leave a comment at the top of this post.  I’d love to hear your favorite coffee or if you’d like to tell me I’m not the only one with memory issues!

Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We’d love to hear what you have to say about our Favorite Holiday.  By the way, what’s your favorite holiday?

So every year on Trick or Treat night we used to invite our friends and family over for a Pumpkin Party.  My kids loved having this party because they were inspired by one of our very favorite books called, “Too Many Pumpkins.” I’ve read this book hundreds of times and I can’t wait to read it to my grandchildren someday. With countless unwelcome pumpkins to deal with, Rebecca Estelle turns disaster into a celebration. One day, years and years later, white-haired Rebecca was busy not eating pumpkins when–SPLAT–a giant pumpkin fell off an overloaded truck and smashed into her yard. She buried the mess so she wouldn’t have to look at it, and, as you might imagine, she witnessed a bumper crop the following fall, “Too Many Pumpkins” by Linda White.  Here’s a link to the book.
