I love rainbows. God is the creator of rainbows. In the Bible’s Genesis flood narrative, after creating a flood to wash away humanity’s corruption, God put the rainbow in the sky as the sign of his promise that he would never again destroy the earth with flood (Genesis 9:13–17):
I actually had a rainbow wedding and so did my parents. On May 31, Steve and I are celebrating our 35th wedding anniversary. Here’s a picture of me with my bridesmaids. What do you think of our 1986 hair?
The dresses were all lovingly made by my Grandma Olson. Yep, she made nine dresses for my wedding. The lavender bridesmaids are my sisters, Janet and Jennifer. Blue- my cousin Chris who was like a sister as we were growing up. Pink and Yellow- Stephanie and Joan- college room mates and dear friends. Peach and Green- Becky and Kathy- high school and college dear friends. The flower girls and ringbearer are cousins, Shelly, Kristopher and Karen.
My parents are celebrating the 60th anniversary of their rainbow wedding on June 19. I asked for a picture, but of course they only have black and white photos from 1961.
It’s time for another Festive Friday Challenge! It’s fun being a designer for Festive Friday and this week’s challenge #FF0082 is World Laughter Day which is on May 3. The world needs a little laughter right now! 🙂
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project. Incorporate THREE or more of the items in your project and link up! #festivefridaychallenge I hope you’ll make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item and join us. If you want help entering, please email me at Beth@StampingMom.com and I’d be happy to help you! I used yellow, rainbow, and sequins from the Inspo List. My “sequins” are actually Ice Cream Corner Sprinkles so I used a little artistic license on that one. 🙂
Even the inside of the card is cute!

That is such a lovely card, I like the way you cut the front panel and that’s a wonderful sentiment. I graduated from high school in 1987 so I had that same exact hair! Thanks for sharing the photo!
What a wonderful card, Beth! The new dies are awesome. AND what a wonderful picture of you and your bridesmaids! I LOVE the rainbow dresses!
Love seeing your wedding picture! How fabulous! Great seeing the new dies in action! Looking forward to making some rainbows too!
What a great card, Beth! These dies are on my order pad for the next order! You’re always inspiring me.
LOVE your card and the dies you used to make your clouds and rainbow! I love rainbows and your wedding looks lovely. Oh the days of dyeing shoes to match everything.
I love your rainbow card and the clever way you did the inside. I loved seeing your 80’s do in your wedding photo – fabulous! And God bless your grandmother for making all of those dresses! Great story.
Your picture DID make me laugh—I remember! It’s my 55th Anniversary this year.
Thanks for 35 amazing years!
