Words of Cheer Birthday

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop! This month, the theme is “Sentiment as a focal point.” We really hope that you enjoy and will be inspired by them! As you hop from blog to blog, don’t forget to leave comments because we love hearing from you. You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Do you ever buy a stamp set because of one sentiment? I just did. Words of Cheer is a Christmas set in the Fall Mini Catalog and it has this awesome “happy” with an additional layer behind it. Don’t recognize it? Well, I did some surgery and cut the evergreen leaves off the back layer. I love making bright and happy cards, so I thought my stash definitely needed to include “happy”! And who doesn’t need a big “happy” to be the focal point of their card?! 🙂 See everything I used to make this card at the bottom of this post.

I added a strip of DSP to the inside of the card and covered the flap of the envelope to make them both cute and coordinating. Here’s a Live Video we recorded last night showing how to make this card and a similar Christmas card. Steve and I made the video right before leaving for a Black Tie event we go to once a year. You probably won’t see Steve in a tux or me in a dress on a video again until next year. 🙂

Here’s another card I made recently from the same Expressions In Ink Suite.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on October 13th. Our theme will be Fantastic Fun Folds and 3D Projects when participants showcase fun fold cards or 3D items that will be great for any occasion. Until then, have fun in your craft space.

I love this suite and your gorgeous card! So smart to cut the greenery off the “happy”, I didn’t even recognize it at first!

Beautiful use of EVERYTHING. I was trying to narrow down what I love more and it is all of it. The construction is so simple and you get such a big presentation out of it! Thank you for sharing.

I totally agree that one die or stamp can make the whole set worth the purchase. (Of course, after I get I usually fall in love with the rest!)

That patterned paper makes me smile and happy just looking at it. You bumped that up to a full-on facial grin. Lovely cards.

The DSP is beautiful alone. But adding the gold foil really pops. Love the sentiment with both foil and pink. A beautiful card!
