Warm Apple Cake Recipe- I usually make it a little healthier now. I use 1 cup almond flour.

Steve and I got married 37 years ago and the only bridal shower gift that I remember is a 9″ x 13″ aluminum baking pan with lid and this hand written recipe. (Thanks Susan Egel) I’ve literally made this recipe at least 100 times and Steve just requested it this week for his 60th birthday cake. Yep, it’s that good!

OK, so I’ve spilled on it a bit and it is well loved. When I go to a Bridal Shower I always get the bride some things off her Bridal Registry because I want her to get what she wants. I was pondering today: should I instead get the Bride a 9″ x 13″ covered aluminum cake pan and this recipe? You can get the pan here. From now on future brides, I’m giving you what you’ll cherish for years to come instead of something you want off your Bridal Registry that you’ll never remember 37 years later. 🙂 Yes, I still use the pan all the time, too!

I’ve been making this cake every Fall for my BSF groups for about the last 15 years. If you’ve had my Warm Apple Cake or would like to have it some day, please leave me a comment. I would also like to hear your favorite recipe of all time. I have modified the recipe a bit over the years to make it healthier. When I made it on Sunday I used 3/4 cup olive oil instead of vegetable oil. I used 1 cup almond flour and 1 cup Einkorn Whole Wheat flour instead of 2 cups of white flour. I also used 1 cup monk fruit sweetener and 1 cup sugar instead of 2 cups of sugar. This recipe is very forgiving, you do you, and make it any way you want. I like to serve it warm. Hope you’ll try it.

My dear BSF friend, Crystal Tommingo, looked at my original recipe and thought I needed a new copy. Thanks for making this beautiful copy, Crystal. You’re the sweetest!

Such beautiful cards; especially that gorgeous pocket card.
Gotta love them old recipes. When my mom passed away I laminated all of our family favorites and the ones that she made most often.
