These birthday gift tags and coordinating box were so much fun to make!  I got the idea for the box of tags from Kadie Labadie. Here’s the link to Kadie’s instructions for the box.

Abby and Keegan spent a couple hours this afternoon at a local senior living facility helping senior citizens with their technology.  I can’t remember if I’ve told you that for Abby’s Senior Honors project she started an organization called Tech Support for Seniors.  She’s recruited high school students and most every Saturday they visit a senior facility and give free help to the residents.  Some Saturdays they go one place in the morning and another place in the afternoon.  The most common request they get is, “How do I connect to the wifi?”  The high school students earn “silver cord hours” or volunteer hours.  The senior citizens get to meet some really neat kids and get help with their cell phones, ipads etc.  Abby has gotten some really sweet emails from people who appreciated the help they received.

While Abby and Keegan were gone, Superman and I tackled putting together our very tall Christmas tree.  After the entire tree was in place, Steve decided it wasn’t stable, so we ended up picking the whole tree up out of the stand.  It was going to be my job to hold the tree while he fixed the stand.  However, the “tree trunk” is in two pieces and came apart unexpectedly.  I believe if we had been filming this ordeal you would be laughing hysterically right now.  Some how after much maneuvering the tree is back in the stand and pretty much standing up straight.  I’ll let you know if it falls over during the night.  Our next step is lights and ornaments.  I wanted to mention to Superman that I would like to also put a tree up in the new Sun room, but after 30 years of marriage I decided timing is everything and I’ll wait to make that request at a later date.

Hope you’re having a good weekend.  Please comment at the top of this post and let me know what Christmas preparations you have done.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Craft Project Central

Did I tell you I got asked to design for Craft Project Central again in December?  I was thrilled of course. 🙂  What this means for you is ten of my posts in December will show sneak peeks for ten different designer’s projects.  You will also get a chance to win a free subscription to Craft Project Central in December and get detailed instructions for all the projects.  What it means for me is that I get paid to stamp, which makes me very happy.  Everyone should have a job doing something they love to do!

This weekend we have plans to take down the Thanksgiving decorations and put up Christmas.  I bet you’ve done your Christmas decorating already?  Since our Thanksgiving decorations were only up for a couple days due to our construction, I decided to leave them up for an extra week and enjoy them. OK… the real reason I haven’t done it yet, is I have a very large artificial tree I put up in our family room and my family does not enjoy putting the tree together or decorating it.  I needed to give Superman a breather from all the work he’s been doing on the house and give him time to psych up to help me with the tree.  My sister’s family loves putting their tree together, but somehow the “Christmas tree putting together genes” are missing at my house. 🙂

Thanksgiving quilt made by Carol Olson.

I truly did enjoy having this quilted Thanksgiving wall hanging that my Mom made, hanging up for an extra week. 🙂

Please leave a comment and tell me your weekend plans.

Party Animal Gift Bag

I love the new Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP). I made this gift bag using one 12 x 12 sheet.  “Open me Already” is from the Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures stamp set available beginning Jan 4, 2017.  Do you like the Whitsper White Mini Pompom Trim?  I think it looks adorable on this gift bag.  I love the little birthday hats on all the animals too!

Here’s the directions to make the gift bag and another gift bag I made using the Candy Cane Lane DSP.

At Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) this morning we discussed John 7.  Basically it talks about how God is in control of the world.  It’s very comforting to me, given the things going on in the world today.

This afternoon was my first time to be in my house alone without any construction workers or family members.  My pups and I were very happy to finally have some alone time after a couple of months of people here daily.  Tomorrow the construction guys are back to tidy up a few things on the list.  If you are wondering if I have any regrets about doing the construction, the answer is absolutely not.  We saved, planned and dreamed about it for over twenty years and we truly do love it!

Keegan started taking weekly voice lessons and is pretty fired up about it.  He’s trying out for a solo in his vocal jazz group.

Abby just got done with a big scholarship application.  She is trying to get most of her college paid for so she can afford to go to medical school or grad school to do Alzheimer’s research.  I can’t believe in six months she’ll be graduating from high school.

Steve installed a sound bar on our new TV in the sun room.  It’s amazing how handy he is.  He also washed the pups for me because I’m doing therapy dogs tomorrow.

I hope everything is going well for you during this Advent season.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂
