For today’s project I want to highlight the awesome Pierced Blooms and Stitched with Whimsey dies. The colors I chose are Magenta Madness, Mango Melody, Coastal Cabana, Highland Heather and Gorgeous Grape. These cards are super simple, but would totally brighten someone’s day. I put 4-6 notecards and envelopes in a Mini Paper Pumpkin box. You could make several sets of these to give away as birthday, Christmas or hostess gifts.

Ski Adventure 2021 -Part 3

Days Two and Three of skiing were even more fun than day one, since we all felt more confident. My last ski trip was three years ago, so it took a bit on the first day to get back in the swing of skiing. I like to go fast, but temper that with my desire not to get hurt. Ryan was my ski partner, and we really enjoyed looking at the beautiful mountains as we made our way down the slopes. It is impossible not to be in awe of God’s amazing creation when it is laid out like a portrait right in front of you!

I skied with Steve at the end of day Two.  We enjoyed talking on the way up the lifts, in addition to skiing.  Steve took me on some of the steeper blue runs that he and Sean had been skiing, and I had no problem on them (as long as I turned a lot)!

I got braver on Day three, when I spent the end of the final day skiing with Steve and Sean.  I went faster on the steeper slopes trying to keep up with the boys, and I really enjoyed it.  Skiing for me feels like flying, and some times I put my arms out like wings just to feel the wind blowing across them. 🙂

I told people before we went on the trip that I thought that Ryan and I would outlast Steve and Sean on the slopes, since they both have bad knees, and they ski very intensely.  But it turned out that they shut the lifts down with me on the last day.  I would say that we were all “winners”! I was, however, the only one that didn’t fall down during our three full days of skiing, so that was a win for me! 🙂

Getting to see God’s creation was not the only blessing on this trip.  Spending time with my adult sons, and Steve, was the biggest blessing of all!

Sean is 30 and lives in Austin, Texas. Ryan is 25 and lives in West Des Moines, Iowa a few miles from our home. They are both software engineers.

We had another day off from skiing during the trip, and visited the 2002 Olympic Museum. This is the site of the ski jumping and downhill skiing, and serves as the training center for Olympic hopefuls. It was fun to watch the skiers training and “relive” the 2002 Winter Olympics in the museum. We have always been big fans of the Olympics and would love to attend in person some day. Our favorite Winter Sports to watch are ice skating and skiing. Our favorite Summer Sports to watch are women’s gymnastics and diving. To be totally honest, I actually love watching just about everything in the Olympics, and love the stories about the individual athletes and what they overcome to make it there.

Please check out everyone’s awesome projects on the blog hop!

Beth, I love the way you used the pierced blooms on these cards. You’ve made them look happy and fun although I’ve also seen them look elegant and sophisticated. They are wonderful dies aren’t they.
Also, thank you for sharing your photos of your ski trip. I agree that your heart soars when you see such wonderful views but I would also say I get a similar feeling of awe when you lie down in some grass in the summer and hear all the little insects going about their business. The detail in God’s good earth is phenomenal. How good it must have been to have spent time with your family on your trip! Vicky x
