Cottage Wreaths Double Step

This month, the theme is a Color Challenge. Using Crumb Cake, Mango Melody, Cajun Craze and Mossy Meadow, the Design Team has created some great projects that you will all want to see. We hope that you will be inspired by all the amazing creations! As you hop from blog to blog, we would love for you to leave a comment. Then, you will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Here’s a video from the past with the directions to make this type of fun fold card.

Directions to make a Double Step Card Base

  1. Cut Cardstock (CS) at 5-1/2” x 8-1/2” (14.9cm x 21cm)
    scored at 4-1/4” (10.5cm).
  2. Using Trimmer, with short side of CS at the top, put left edge of CS at 1”
(2.5cm) and cut from 3-1/4” (8cm) down to 7-1/2” (18.5cm). Turn CS over
and keep the same short side at the top. Cut on this side the same as you
just did, so you end up with two parallel cuts.
  3. Turn the CS so the long side of CS is at the top and the cut lines are
toward the right. Put the left edge of CS at 3-1/4” (10.5cm) and using score
blade, score down to 1” (2.5cm). Shift left edge of CS over to 6-1/2” (16cm)
and score down to 1” (2.5cm). Shift left edge of CS over to 7-1/2” (18.5cm)
and score down to 1” (2.5cm). Turn CS over so the other long side is at the
top and repeat the directions scoring as you just did on the other side.
  4. Keep the long side of CS at the top and put the left edge of CS at 4-1/4”
    (10.5cm) and score from 1” (2.5cm) down to 4-1/2” (12.4cm).

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on November 9th when the theme will be Home for the Holidays.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.

Hi, Beth…..I have to say that once again, you have excelled with this card!! I love the color combination! I also love the versatility of this set…used it for a card in my recent workshop — now I wish I had waited and used it for a fun fold like you did:) Keep that inspiration coming!!

Hi Beth, I like your double step card very much, and the colours are brilliant, is there a tutorial on how to make the step bit please? Cheers and thankyou, Marilyn.

I love your card and especially the layers! The sentiment really pops with the colorful layers. And the little leaves and bow for the wreath are perfect touches. A fabulous card!
