April Pals Blog Hop

Pals Blog Hop:  Earth Day is Every Day

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for April where every day is Earth Day. This month we are showcasing projects that use recycled, reused or other earth inspired elements and colors. We hope you enjoy the Pals creative projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from

on the Pals Hop. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

As I considered what projects to make with a recycling theme, I kept thinking of “can” projects.  My first project involved filling the need for a cute pencil holder for my desk.  It started as a LA Smoothie can which was transformed with Painted Blooms DSP, one of the Butterflies Thinlits Dies and a Blackberry Bliss Butterfly.  Quick and easy!                                                            photo 1 (27)photo 3 (21)

With May Day coming soon, I thought I would show you one of my favorite May Day can recycling projects.  It involves purchasing your favorite canned fruit, or in my case purchasing my son Keegan’s favorite peaches with the pop top lid.  I use a Pampered Chef can opener and open the bottom of the can.  Keegan happily eats the peaches and I wash out the can.  I fill the can with May Day candy and seal the bottom of the can by replacing the bottom tin using Tombo Liquid Glue.  I used the opposite side of the Painted Blooms DSP to cover this can.  I cased Elisha Smith’s cute tag idea to finish off the front.  When you deliver the cans on May Day, the kids and their Mom’s will wonder how you ever got the candy in the can without opening up the pop top.  This will improve your standing in the “Mother of the Year” contest!

Happy Easter Berry Basket

StampinUp Easter Berry basket designed by demo Beth McCullough. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

I love the Stampin’ Up! Berry Basket Die in the 2015 Occasions Catalog.  Here’s my first Easter Basket.  I made half the basket in Bermuda Bay cardstock and the other half using the Backgrounds DSP Brights Collection.  The sides of the basket are the same polka dots as the handle.  I didn’t use all DSP for the basket because the card stock is a heavier weight and I found using half cardstock and half DSP makes the basket both cute and sturdy.  I also have found so many uses for the Butterflies Thinlits Dies.  It’s no wonder Stampin’ Up! has sold out of these.  They are supposed to get more in stock soon.  The “happy easter” is stamped on a garden pick using the Handpicked Framelits Dies.  Hope you have a wonderful Easter!

I love this Happy Easter Bunny!  I actually had made this card using Blendabilities before I knew they had been discontinued.  I remade the card using Stampin’ Write Markers.  It’s great that we have so many choices to color our cards.  I saw the Calypso Coral Pompom Trim for the tail on Pinterest.  It seems like the Pompom Trim was designed to be this bunny’s tail.

The largest Oval Framelit is a scallop oval.  It is the perfect size to look like an Easter Egg, yet fit inside a standard size envelope.  When cutting this card, I left the very top out of the Framelit to keep the pieces connected as a card.  I think the scallop oval Framelit will be useful for making fun cards for any occasion.

The Best Year Ever DSP was used along with the Envelope Liner Framelit to coordinate with the card.
