I got the measurements for my Test Tube Holder from France Martin.

4″ x 9-7/8″ cardstock scored at 4″, 4-5/8″ and 5-1/4″.  Slits are cut for the tube at 1-1/2″ and 2-1/2″.  If you have questions, please email me at Beth@StampingMom.com

The balls are chocolate candy called Sixlets.  You can buy them here.

My Mom is a quilter, so I have a true appreciation for quilting and will probably always keep the Christmas Quilt stamp set and Quilt Builder Framelits Dies.  I truly enjoy making these mini paper quilts.

Here’s my favorite quilt card set I’ve made so far.  I used Bermuda Bay, Melon Mambo and Crushed Curry.

The front of this Treat Tube Holder is cased from Mary Fish.  Thanks for the inspiration, Mary!  You can buy the orange Sixlets here.

My first BSF leader from 2002, Janet Leonard, visited our class today from out of state and got to join my discussion group.  I found out yesterday she was coming, so I made this for her and wrote her a sweet note inside telling her how much I love and appreciate her.

I used the Ribbon of Courage stamp set and the coordinating Support Ribbon Framelits Dies.  This is another keeper set.

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on November 8, 2017. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. I’d love it if you would leave me a comment at the top of this blog post.

Shaving Cream Stenciling

We do five projects per month for the Creative Crew on Splitcoast Stampers (SCS) .  This challenge CCREW917TECH was to choose a technique from the SCS Tutorials Section and make a card using the technique.    I followed the Shaving Cream Stenciling tutorial by Lydia Fiedler. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/re…eamstenciling/ I typically like to do clean and simple projects, but this one was so much fun, I will definitely do it again.  I had to raid Sean’s bathroom to find white shaving cream.  The rest of my guys use a blue gel that wouldn’t work for this technique.

Speaking of Sean, Steve and I had the joy of going to Seattle to spend a long weekend with Sean and celebrate his 27th birthday!  The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time.

We got to tour Microsoft where Sean works as a software engineer.  They have a beautiful campus with a museum, company store, and great eating places.

Here’s Sean in his office.  They do everything paperless and even the file cabinet was empty.  He’s been in this office almost a year and there are no pictures or decorations.  Notice the juggling balls on the desk?  He learned to juggle in PE in junior high.  Ever since, when he needs to figure out a difficult problem he just stands up and starts juggling and figures things out.  It appears to me, Sean only requires a good computer and a nice set of juggling balls and he can be effective at his job! 🙂

Sean took us to an outdoor festival and they had a giant size Connect Four game.  I spent hours playing the smaller version of this game with each of my four kids as they were growing up.  Who knew it would pay off?  I beat Sean three games in a row and then beat Steve.  After that no one wanted to play with me, so Sean installed a Connect Four app on my phone so I’d have someone else to beat.

Here’s a selfie we took while waiting to go up in the Space Needle.

I found this rock at the top of the outer deck of the Space Needle. On the back of the rock it said #JCPR on Facebook.  We looked it up and found out in Junction City, Oregon the kids and parents are painting hundreds of rocks and hiding them for people to find.  They ask you to post a pic on Facebook and hide it somewhere else and they are tracking where the rocks travel.  After I posted my pic, I found out a young lady named Sophie had painted the rock and her uncle had helped her weather seal it.  Sophie and her uncle had plans to go to the Space Needle together, but her uncle was tragically killed in a car accident a couple weeks ago.  Nevertheless, the rock found its way to the Space Needle.  God works in mysterious ways.  There’s more to the story, but I’m very touched and have a new friend in Oregon.  Please help me pray for Sophie as she heals from the death of her uncle.

We took a ferry to Bainbridge Island which was beautiful with quaint shops.  We ate a delicious dinner at Doc’s Marina Grill.

The last morning we were there was Sean’s actual birthday so we went to brunch at Lot No. 3 to celebrate.  This is the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever eaten.  The egg and avocado dish was awesome too!

I brought Sean Scotcheroos to take to work and share with his co-workers.  If you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber keep your boxes, because almost the entire 9 x 13 pan of Scotcheroos fit in two layers in the Paper Pumpkin box.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Grandma Ruby’s 80th Birthday and Big Stampin’ Up Sale!

I’ve been asked why I haven’t been posting lately? I stamp almost everyday and have been doing lots of stamping related things. Today I looked and realized I have 16 posts that I never published.  I’m going to share a few of them over the next couple weeks even though some are a little outdated.

*Note to Altanta Stampin’ Up! demo who used to live in Iowa- You tried to contact me through Facebook and I accidentally erased your message as I was trying to reply to it.    Please contact me through email at Beth@StampingMom.com  I’m looking forward to chatting with you. 🙂

We had a fun and busy Labor Day weekend.  Saturday morning we drove to Davenport to take Grandma Ruby and Grandpa Harold out to The Machine Shed restaurant to celebrate Ruby’s 80th birthday.  The weekend  before was Grandma Ruby’s 80th birthday celebration but none of us were able to go.  Steve and Keegan were in Tijuana, Mexico on a mission trip for Homes for Hope, a division of Youth With A  Mission (YWAM.)  Steve and I went on this mission trip last year.  It was very rewarding to build a house for a family in Mexico in two days.  Keegan wasn’t sure he wanted to go, but he loved it!  He was the only teenager on the trip.  He learned how to use a chop saw, how to frame and how to roof.  He also loved the kids, ages two and four and the stray dog that hung out with them.  It’s good for a sixteen year old from the USA who has his own room in a nice home, to see that there are lots of people in the world that live in a totally different situation.  It was also good for him to see the joy that this Mexican family had, even though they were so poor by American standards.  The Mom accepted Christ while they were there, which was amazing to witness.

Anyway we had a great time with Grandma Ruby and Grandpa Harold.  I spent the day working on Ruby’s 80th birthday party album.  I’ve been a SU demo for about fifteen years. My in-laws were thrilled with the album I made for Ruby. They said it was almost like I was a “professional.” It made me smile. I’m so glad I invested in the large numbers and letters. I use them all the time.

The Stampin’ Up! fiscal year goes from Oct 1 through Sept 30.  Due to my sweet customers, awesome downline, and kind people buying “shares” from me, I was able to retain my title of Silver Elite for the second year.  Thank you so much!  When I go to OnStage in November 2017 and April 2018 I will get to attend the “special” events.  I told you last year, that after 15 years of watching others get these special benefits, it was a thrill for me to be included.  I feel so blessed to get to do this for a second year.  Thank you so much!!

Oh Happy Day, Happy Day!  Yep, Abby was home this weekend for the first time since leaving for college seven weeks ago.  I drove to get her Friday afternoon and was so excited as I getting closer to Iowa City.  Before I actually got to Iowa City I started crying.  Not sure what that was…relief to get to bring her home after seven weeks?  Her requests for the weekend: go to church as a family Saturday night, make some of her favorite food (Ziti Cucina and Pot Roast), play with the pups and watch a movie with Superman.  Yep, he’s a pretty super Dad too!
