3×3 Note Box directions

blog hop 512

As I said yesterday, I originally got directions for this box from Julie Davison.

Here’s my version of the 3 x 3 Note Box:

9 1/2″ x 3 1/4″ Coastal Cabana cardstock  Score at 2′, 2 1/2″, 5 3/4″ and 6 1/4″ Stamp the flower from Stampin’ Up! Mixed Bunch using Versamark on this piece before scoring.

1″ x 8 1/2″ Strawberry Slush cardstock  Score at 2″, 2 1/2″, 5 3/4″ and 6 1/4″

51415-1

Two pieces 2″x 1″ Coastal Cabana cardstock  Score at 1/4″ and 3/4″ Attach sticky strip to both landscape sides.

51415-2

I used Stampin’ Up! Mixed Bunch stamp set to stamp the two flowers using Versamark ink.  Mixed Bunch is retiring June 2, 2015.  Sprinkle on white embossing powder and heat emboss.

51415-3

Punch the flowers out using the Blossom punch and 3/4″ circle punch.  The Blossom punch will also be retiring June 2, 2015.  I attached the small Strawberry Slush circle with a Stampin’ Dimensional to the Coastal Cabana flower.  Attach the flower to the 1″ x 8 1/2″ strip of Strawberry Slush.

51415-4

Attach the 2″ x 1″ pieces so they line up at the sides and bottom of the box.

51415-651415-8

Wrap the Strawberry Slush belly band around the box and secure with sticky strip.

Please let me know if you have any questions.  If you make a box, please send me a picture and I’ll post it here on my blog.

Tomorrow I’ll post another set of 3×3 cards and Note Box that I made using the Painted Blooms DSP.

Blessings, Beth

3×3 Note Holder

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for May where we are preparing for the retirement of some Stampin’ Up! products.  Though it may be goodbye to some very loved supplies, it will make room for the much anticipated new catalog products.  We hope you enjoy the Pals’ creative projects.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Nicole Watt at Pixel Maven’s Retreat, number 7 on the Pals Hop.  If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

One of the reasons I started stamping back in 2003, was to make thoughtful  gifts for family, friends, kid’s teachers, etc. I was at a Kindermusik class and saw an altered notebook made by a Stampin’ Up demo.  It was so cute and I was hooked. I love the fact that I can be almost ready to walk out the door for an event, and go to my stamping office and whip up a cool hostess gift.  For today’s post I made three 3×3 cards and envelopes with a matching note holder. My favorite retiring colors are Coastal Cabana and Strawberry Slush.  My favorite retiring punch is the Blossom punch.  I will also miss the stamp set, Mixed Bunch.  My “go to” paper is the Backgrounds DSP stacks which are also retiring.

I made three very simple 3×3 cards using punches and white embossing powder.

Here’s a set of cards I made using Coastal Cabana.

The note holder is held together with a cute flower on a belly band.

I originally made a similiar 3×3 note holder years ago with directions from Julie Davison.  Please let me know if you would like the instructions for the Note Holder.

Pals Paper Art Challenge

photo (16)

Here’s my submission to Pals Paper Art challenge PPA247.  I struggled with using the three purples together.  The basket is made out of  Elegant Eggplant.  The big butterfly is Perfect Plum and the small butterfly is Blackberry Bliss.  I made this basket with the intent of putting one of my purple african violets in to give as a gift, however I didn’t like the blue rim of the pot messing with the purple color scheme.

I also tried the butterfly on top of the handle.  My husband, Steve, liked the first picture the best, so that’s what I went with for the challenge.  Have you tried the Pals Paper Art Challenge?  If you haven’t you should.
