Party Animal Gift Bag

I love the new Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP). I made this gift bag using one 12 x 12 sheet.  “Open me Already” is from the Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures stamp set available beginning Jan 4, 2017.  Do you like the Whitsper White Mini Pompom Trim?  I think it looks adorable on this gift bag.  I love the little birthday hats on all the animals too!

At Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) this morning we discussed John 7.  Basically it talks about how God is in control of the world.  It’s very comforting to me, given the things going on in the world today.

This afternoon was my first time to be in my house alone without any construction workers or family members.  My pups and I were very happy to finally have some alone time after a couple of months of people here daily.  Tomorrow the construction guys are back to tidy up a few things on the list.  If you are wondering if I have any regrets about doing the construction, the answer is absolutely not.  We saved, planned and dreamed about it for over twenty years and we truly do love it!

Keegan started taking weekly voice lessons and is pretty fired up about it.  He’s trying out for a solo in his vocal jazz group.

Abby just got done with a big scholarship application.  She is trying to get most of her college paid for so she can afford to go to medical school or grad school to do Alzheimer’s research.  I can’t believe in six months she’ll be graduating from high school.

Steve installed a sound bar on our new TV in the sun room.  It’s amazing how handy he is.  He also washed the pups for me because I’m doing therapy dogs tomorrow.

I hope everything is going well for you during this Advent season.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

I love it when people see something on my blog, recreate their own version of it and send me a picture.  These gorgeous Double Pocket Treat Holders were made by my friend Ruth Sollberger from Australia.  She is a Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) group leader and made these for her ladies for Sharing Day, which is the end of the BSF year.  I love what you made Ruth and thanks for sending me a picture!  Ruth used the gorgeous Blooms & Bliss Designer Series Paper (DSP).

Here’s the link for the directions to make the Double Pocket Treat Holders in three different sizes.

Superman and I have had another crazy weekend.  We moved all the furniture out of the family room so the carpet could be cleaned and stretched.  We moved everything out of my old stamping office so the carpet can be cleaned before Steve’s office moves back in.  I spent hours moving 13 years of stamping supplies and trying to organize it in my new space.  I love the new space by the way.  Here’s a sneak peek.  I have a lot more to do before it’s all done.

Steve also power washed and stained the deck, built new steps off the deck and stained those. I’ve never moved so many things without actually moving to a different house.  We have two couches and a piano in our kitchen and our kitchen table is in our new Sun room.

We took some time out to celebrate Ryan’s 21st birthday today!  Ryan is a sweet and smart young man studying to be a Software Engineer.  He is man after God’s own heart.  We are so proud of him.  For his birthday dinner he wanted me to make Scalloped Potatoes and Ham, and Abby made her famous Flourless Peanut Butter Chocolate cake.  Yum!

Hope you had a great weekend!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Double Pocket Treat Holder Directions

Double Pocket Treat Holders are quick and easy to make. Here’s a 6×6 treat holder made with Candy Cane Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP).  I’ve made them in three sizes: 6×6, 8×8, and 12×12.  Choose the size you want to make.  My directions below will be for the 8×8.

So far everything is the same for all three sizes.  Here’s where each size is scored differently.  Choose the size paper you started with and score accordingly.

Score 6×6 at 3″ and 5-1/2″

Score 8×8 at 3-3/4″ and 7-1/2″

Score 12×12 at 5-1/4″ and 11-1/2″

Open and fold the two sides toward the center.

If you’re making the 6×6 treat holder, you’ll have snip off a little bit on each side, that hangs over when you fold on the score lines as shown above.

Add adhesive on the two places shown above and fold together making sure the pockets will lay flat.  Punch whatever size hole you want on the other two corners also shown above.  I used the 3/4″ punch for the 8×8 and 12×12.  I used the 1/2″ for the 6×6.  I punched the first hole where I thought it looked good, then I folded the two pieces together and punched the second hole by matching it up with the first one.

For Step 6, fold together in the shape of a “W.”  The pockets go to the outside. Bring the two holes together at the top and add a ribbon.  Decorate as desired.

It took me a couple days to get the directions ready in between several runs to Menard’s, Office Depot, cleaning and painting walls etc.  Tomorrow is supposed to be the last day of our construction, but we are moving furniture on Saturday, cleaning carpets and the tile grout next Monday and Wednesday.  We also are getting rid of Sean’s old desk, moving Steve’s desk down to Sean’s room, moving Steve’s office into my old stamping office (his original office) and moving my 13 years of Stampin’ Up! supplies into my new Stamping Studio.  My sister called tonight to see what her family should bring to Thanksgiving.  I told her I’ve ordered a ham and turkey and that’s as far as I’ve gotten.  I always make homemade pies and our other Thanksgiving favorites. Have you started planning your Thanksgiving?  Do you have a favorite kind of pie?  I like to make Pumpkin, Pecan, Apple and Coconut Cream. Two weeks left to get everything done.  It’s good to have a deadline.  🙂

Blessings,

Beth 🙂
