🩵🎈Balloon Festoon Fun Fold

Handmade Balloon Festoon fun fold birthday card with a light blue basket-weave embossed front, turquoise and green balloons, sparkling gems, and a “Happy Birthday” sentiment beside a patterned paper border.

A few colorful balloons are a wonderful way to send birthday joy—even if that joy arrives a little late! 🩵 This fun fold card features the Balloon Festoon Bundle with a row of balloons along the edge of a textured front panel made with the Rustic Check Embossing Folder.

I paired Pool Party, Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, and Summer Splash for a cheerful mix of blues and greens. Summer Splash is retired, but this is a great reason to pull out any you still have in your stash. I used it because it coordinates with the Florals in Bloom DSP.

Open the card and you’ll find a little turtle with the greeting, “Happy belated birthday (sorry I was slow).” Both are from the retired Turtle Friends stamp set. It makes me smile! If you’ve ever made a birthday card and then forgotten to mail it, or just didn’t get around to making it in time, you might appreciate this sentiment, too. 😊

I love mixing newer products with well-loved supplies from my stash. If you don’t have Turtle Friends or Summer Splash, use a favorite birthday greeting and colors you already own to make this card your own!

A handmade card is a lovely reminder that someone is thinking of you—even after your birthday!

Are you good at mailing birthday cards on time, or could you use a few belated birthday cards in your stash?

I left a comment on Facebook too about this. With all the fun belated birthday stamps these days, I like to use them just because. This was one stamp set I didn’t get because I think I have a turtle one about being slow with a card. But, it was so fun and cute to see your card. Sometimes people get lots of cards before or on their birthday, it is always a nice surprise to get one later to extend the celebration! So, I do both since I belong to a birthday card swap, I get behind sometimes so I try to have several of each just in case as I hate making multiples of cards. By the way, if you are late on Christmas cards, you can always make a New Years card or better yet a winter theme like snowmen, snowflakes etc. and extend them into January with a little note! That is my story and I am sticking to it!
