Today was a very good day! Keegan, our youngest, turned 16 today and got his Driver’s License. He is one happy dude! Keegan is a sweet, smart, kind young man and we feel very blessed to have him as our son.
Abby found out today she is a National Merit Semi-Finalist! Most students in the U.S. take a PSAT test in October of their junior year. The top one percent in each state become a National Merit Semi- Finalist. Next February they announce the Finalists, many of whom get full ride, or free tuition scholarships to college. Abby wants to study Biomedical Engineering and then go to medical school to become a Neurologist or grad school to do research to help cure Alzheimer’s and Dementia. She is thrilled to now have some of her college paid for so she can afford medical/grad school without going hugely in debt. If you have younger kids or grand kids and want to hear more about the National Merit Scholarship program, please let know. I’d be happy to tell you about it and hopefully help make the cost of college reduced for your kiddo too.
Blessings,
Beth 🙂
Hi Sheri,
Here’s the link to the 3 Nugget Box Directions.
Congrats to you and your daughter Nancy! Sports receive so much recognition. It’s nice when the kids get some recognition for academics.
Beth 🙂
My daughter was named a Merit Finalist in 1994. I’ll never forget our excitement.
Hi Jan,
Thanks for your kind words. I really do appreciate your encouragement. God really has given Abby a heart for people with Alzheimer’s and Dementia. I thought we were doing therapy dogs because it’s a kind thing to do and Abby would get volunteer hours for school. I had no idea God would use that to direct Abby’s future schooling and career. I also didn’t know six years ago when we started therapy dogs at the memory care and assisted living facility that in 2015 my Mom would be diagnosed with Dementia and my Dad would be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s. God had Abby and I both right where he wanted us. We learned a lot about how to care for, love, communicate with and have patience with those affected by Dementia or Alzheimer’s.
Blessings,
Beth 🙂
Thanks Sheri,

Congratulations to Abby your lovely daughter. You and your husband have obviously nurtured your daughter giving her desires to help others as evidenced in her goals of curing Alzheimers. Surely God will be pleased with her efforts and yours as well.
And thank you for the template for the darling 5-nugget box. I will be using that very soon for Christmas gifts. Best wishes on reaching your goal for a promotion!
