Add some sunshine to someone’s life with a little lemony treat! In this tutorial, you will create your own lemon pattern cardstock to make a bright birthday card, a lemon candy treat in a popcorn box, and a card with a lemon tea bag tucked in a pocket. You will also make a mini treat bag with a sliding insert that reveals a lemon herbal tea bag. You can’t help but smile while making these bright and cheery projects.

Abby and Keegan finished their Physics class at the community college last night.  Time to get Abby ready for college.  I’m thrilled for her and know she’ll do great, but I get teary eyed every time I think about it.  Sunday, August 13 is the day Abby moves to college.  I told Keegan he has to go with us to be the muscle getting Abby’s things up the stairs and also to drive me home, because I may not be able to see the road through my tears.  Superman will be with us that day, but then has business in Davenport so he won’t be able to drive me home himself.  (I actually do almost all the driving normally, but I have no doubt driving home that day will be too hard for me.) Keegan’s biggest concern is all the extra time that Steve and I will have to micromanage him, since he’ll be the only kid for the first time ever.  He’s been trying to bribe Abby to stay home with him this year and they could go off to college together next year. 🙂

My friend Allyson, loaned me a crowd size coffee pot and chafing dish to use at Abby’s graduation party.  I didn’t want to return them empty handed, so I whipped up three monogram notecards and envelopes and put them in the cute thank you box.  I used the new Pick a Pattern Designer Series Paper (DSP) because when I picked up the borrowed items, I noticed Allyson had lots of beautiful pink flowers adorning the front of her house. Allyson is a homeschool Spanish teacher and always has tons of thank yous to send at the end of the year.

I added a strip of DSP to make the envelopes cute too!

Did you notice the new Pretty Label punch is perfect for monogram cards? The white circle is the 1 3/8″ punch.

April 2017 Paper Pumpkin Alternative

The design team I’m on at Use Your Stuff is having a Circle Challenge this week!  Circles are a challenge everyone can easily do, so jump over to Use Your Stuff when you have your Circle Creation completed.

My dear college friend, Sharon, is having a birthday this week so I decided to make this circle birthday card for her.

Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set has beautiful fonts and is the show piece for this circle challenge birthday card designed by demo Beth McCullough. This April 2017 Paper Pumpkin Alternative makes use of some of my favorite kit parts. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom #cute&simple4u

A couple friends were over stamping this month’s Paper Pumpkin with me on Friday evening.  I love the Lemon Lime Twist with the black and white, so I chose to use some of the Paper Pumpkin kit parts on this card and make a Paper Pumpkin April 2017 Alternative card.  I used the washi tape from the kit and also the DSP lining from one of the envelopes.  The sentiment is from the new Happy Birthday Gorgeous stamp set.

Saturday night was Prom for Abby and Keegan.  Here’s a picture of my kids before they met up with their friend groups.  I love the Lilac bushes shown in the background.  They smell wonderful!

We weren’t expecting any kids at our house Saturday evening. Before the night was over, Keegan and his girlfriend stopped over before the dance, Abby and her friend group came to have snacks and change before “After Prom”, and Ryan brought ten of his Okoboji Bible camp counselor friends for a bonfire in our back yard, and seven of them stayed overnight.  With three of our kids along with the seven guests, we had young adults sleeping on every couch and bed all over the house.  Sunday morning we sent them off after having cinnamon rolls, scrambled eggs and bacon.  It was a fun evening!  I hope they all come back soon.  Superman and I are going to be super lonely when we become empty nesters in sixteen months!  I’ll probably have a lot more time to make cards though. 🙂
