I like to make a template for fun folds so it’s easy to make them over and over again with different products. Here’s the basics to cut and score a Tall Center Step card:
- Cut cardstock (CS) at 4-1/4” x 11”. Put short side at the top with the left edge of CS at 1” and cut from 4-1/2” down to 10”. Move left edge of CS over to 3-1/4” and again cut from 4-1/2” down to 10”
- Turn CS so the long side is at the top. Put left edge of CS at 4-1/2” and using the score blade, score down to 1”. Move left edge of CS over to 9” and score down to 1”. Move over again to 10” and score down to 1”. Flip CS so opposite long side is at the top and do this entire step again.
- Keep the long side at the top and move the left edge to 5-1/2”. Score from 1” down to 3-1/4”, between the cut lines.
- Use a bone folder to burnish all the score lines while keeping the bottom layers of the card even.
