Hello Cupcake

Festive Friday Challenge

It’s time for another Festive Friday Challenge!  I love being a designer for Festive Friday and this week’s challenge #FF0023 is  New Year’s  (Dec 31) and/or Sparkle & Shine.   #festivefridaychallenge  I hope you’ll make a card and join us.  If you need help figuring out how to enter, please email me at Beth@StampingMom.com and I’d love to help you.

I decided to make a Sparkle & Shine card since it’s one of the options for Festive Friday this week.  Abby got home from college today and helped me finish this card.  She loved it so much, she wants it for her birthday card in February. Ever since Abby was little, I often called her, “Abby Dazzle,” so a Sparkle & Shine card is very appropriate for her.  It’s so pretty in real life. 🙂  I’m super excited to have Abby home for a whole month over break.  Can’t wait for our two college boys, Ryan and Keegan, to get home tomorrow.  Sean will get here next Friday and stay for two weeks.  The McCullough family will be having all the fun we can think of while we have a full nest. 🙂  I’ve thought of one activity for “Forced Family Fun, ” that we’ve never done before.  I can’t tell you about it until after we do it, because the two kids who love me the most read this blog and it would ruin the surprise. (Just kidding, about them loving me the most) 🙂

Are you wondering how I did the presents?  It’s an awesome new die, Detailed Birthday Edgelits Dies on page 17 of the new 2019 Occasions catalog.   Another one of my favorite new things is the Rectangle Stitched Framelits on page 28.  I believe every crafter needs these! Can you see the stitching on the edge of the black foil?  What about the gorgeous Lovely Lipstick Foils Sheets?  They are on page 12 of the Sale-A-Bration catalog.  For each order of $50 you can choose the Foil 12″ x 12″ Sheets and get 4 sheets of Lovely Lipstick and 4 sheets of Grapefruit Grove for free.  Sale-A-Bration will be Jan 3- March 31, 2019.

I’m sending catalogs to my customers tomorrow.  If you don’t already have a Stampin’ Up! demo, please email me at Beth@StampingMom.com and I’ll send you the new catalogs.  I’m also doing “shares” again in January of the new paper, ribbon and accessories.  I’ll have the details about the shares soon.

Today is the first day of school in West Des Moines, Iowa.  I’ve always taken the kids’ pictures on the steps, but we ran out of kids this year, so our pups, Maya and Molly, stepped in.  Actually, last year Keegan had them in his picture because he had never done a first day of school picture alone.

Here’s the first day of school in 2005.  Same steps, different carpet. 🙂  I loved being a stay at home to these four awesome kids!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Keegan got all four of his wisdom teeth removed a couple days ago.  He’s recovered pretty well and is going back to school on Monday.  His favorite foods to eat the first couple days were Butter Pecan or Strawberry ice cream,  Chocolate pudding and Gnocchi from Latin King. I know it’s not healthy, but he was in survival mode.

Yesterday, Keegan spent a couple hours making fleece blankets for two little girls that have cancer.  He needed a few more hours to graduate with a Silver Cord.  The high school kids are required to volunteer at least 50 hours all four years of high school in order to be recognized with a Silver Cord at graduation.  Keegan volunteered by doing Therapy Dog visits with me, going on a mission trip to Tijuana, Mexico to help build a house for a family, going on a mission trip to the Navajo Indian reservation where we built a handicap ramp at a senior citizen’s home, helping senior citizen’s in Des Moines with their electronics, volunteering at Bible School and more.  I’m really proud of you Keegan and I think you figured out you really enjoy volunteering!

Here’s Molly as she was “helping” Keegan finish tying the fleece blanket.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂
