Stampin’ Up announced it’s Color Revamp last weekend at OnStage.  My favorite part of the revamp is the return of former In-Color, Costal Cabana.  Costal Cabana is a lighter version of my beloved Bermuda Bay!

I’m a designer and hosting the challenge this week at Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog.  We purchase crafting supplies to make beautiful cards, scrapbooks and gifts, not to just collect the crafting supplies.  Use Your Stuff was created to inspire us to use what we already have.  The Coastal Cabana ink and cardstock have been in my stash since 2013.  I pulled it out today for this week’s challenge of, “Babies.”  Please head over to Use Your Stuff and enter the challenge.

Here’s the original Baby card I made with the Eclipse technique a few weeks ago.

On my latest version, I used the fancier banner from Bunch of Banners Framelits.  I also added the little heart from the Enamel Shapes- Brights.  These are retiring, so get them while you still can.

This was a Chicago Cubs Baby gift for one of my favorite Cubs fans!  Notice he got a Real Red Enamel Shape for his heart.  I’m so glad Baby Bear made it into the new catalog.  Do you have any ideas for what kind of Bear I should make next?  Please leave me a comment with your suggestion.

I’ve been busy organizing my Stamping Studio to accommodate the retiring product and new product arriving soon.  I’ve also started planning Keegan’s grad party.  We became parents 27 years ago and will become empty nesters starting in August. This fall we’ll have three college kids and one college graduate.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Welcome to the Remarkable InkBig Blog Hop for February 2018. This month our theme is  Lions, Tigers & Bears, Oh My! Cards Featuring Animals!  You may just be starting the blog hop here at my blog – Beth McCullough @  StampingMom or may have come from the person previous to me on the list. If you get off track at any time, the full lineup below will help you move along from blog to blog so you see all the projects.

So when I saw “Bear” in the blog hop challenge, I knew I was in.  I love teddy bears and used to collect them.  In fact, our oldest son, Sean, is named after my favorite teddy bear, Seanie Bear.  OK, so it seems weird to me to name a child after a teddy bear, but at the time it made perfect sense. 🙂  Even though I don’t collect them anymore, when Stampin’ Up! came out with Baby Bear I bought it immediately.  I got the idea for this card from my friend and fellow demo, Barb Kingsley.  Here’s her card I received in a swap in January.

Barb used the new bunny set in the Occasions catalog, Sweet Little Something.  Don’t you love the Eclipse technique?!

I used the line of hearts stamp from Heart Happiness to decorate the envelope and inside the card.  I try to always decorate the envelope so the recipient knows its “happy mail!” Since I love everyone I send a card to, I might just put hearts on all my envelopes this year. 🙂

Abby moves to college today

My heart is breaking and my sweet daughter couldn’t be happier.  I guess that’s how it’s intended to be.  We are dropping Abby off at college today.  She will be a four hour round trip away, which I know doesn’t seem too far for those of you who have kids across the country or across the world, but for me it’s a lot farther than having her tucked in her bedroom for the last 18 years.

Superman (my husband Steve) printed off some Tiger Hawks for the envelope liner.  Abby loved the Cubs Baby
Bear that we made for little Mr. Finnegan last week, so I knew she would love her own Hawkeye Baby Bear.

So where’s Abby’s matching Hawkeye gift bag you might be asking? Well, we spent all the Abby money last week “back to college” shopping, so Abby just got the card filled with more advice from her Mom.  I had 18 years to teach her and tell her everything she needed to know, but I keep thinking of more things I need to tell her.

Handmade card created by Stampin Up Demo Lynn Tague. Please see more on her blog https://beyondbeachesandblessings.com

Lynn Tague, my good friend and stamping team member dropped off this cute card and an adorable Hawkeye hot/cold cup and Hawkeye coaster.  How sweet is that?!  I wish I had a picture of the cup and coaster.  Abby immediately washed the cup and added them to the already packed car.  Thanks so much, Lynn, for making Abby smile!

Saturday night we took Abby to her favorite restaurant, Latin King, went to church one last time and visited Abby’s grandparents to say good bye.  Grandma also had an adorable pillow case she made for Abby’s body pillow, to match her quilt.

There’s nothing left to do but drive to college, haul the stuff upstairs and try to leave without sobbing.

We love you Abby!
