Sometimes you need a little help from your friends! I challenged my Stamping Mom Joy Team members to create a Spring related 3″ x 3″ square with no words, using current Stampin’ Up products and any of the following Stampin’ Up Brights Collection colors: Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green, Coastal Cabana, and Gorgeous Grape. We did this as a swap and 11 people participated. I thought I would add “Spring” to the sampler when I put it together, but I loved all the squares so much that I included 9 squares on each Sampler. All 11 Squares were used between these two Samplers.
I added layers to the some of the squares and a 3-1/4 layer to all of the squares. Each person’s Sampler turned out differently, but all were beautiful!
The frames are from Michael’s and they are 12″ x 12″ Shadow Box frames. This allows you to use lots of dimension on your squares. The 12″ x 12″ white background came from the backing piece of the Designer Series Paper packs. Don’t throw these away. Save them and use them for projects like this. Who knew this beautiful project was partially made with recycled product?! 🙂 You can have one frame for your samplers and keep switching out the pictures with each holiday or season.
This was our favorite team meeting ever (the meeting was March 6 before all this began) and I think the Joy Team wants to keep doing 3″ x 3″ Sampler squares for the different seasons and holidays. I hope you now want to be part of my Stamping Mom’s Joy Team, you can join here. You can choose $125 of products for $99 and free shipping! I have Joy Team members in three states and our team is growing! 🙂 Please email me and we’ll chat about it.
We also made cards with whatever two squares we had left. Here’s a couple of the cards I made that started as 3″ x 3″ Sampler squares.
As you can see whether part of the Sampler or as individual cards, they all turned out amazing!
It’s time for another Festive Friday Challenge! I love being a designer for Festive Friday and this week’s challenge #FF0056 is National Library Worker’s Day (Apr 21st). I’ve been praying for everyone as we deal with this pandemic. How are you doing? I’ve been staying home and trying to use my time wisely. I told you about the computer our older boys built for Steve. Last weekend Steve, Sean and Ryan tore down our rotten back fence and built a new one.
Here’s Sean, our oldest son, who is a software engineer at Microsoft in Seattle. Here’s been here working from our house since March 6. He came home to go on a Spring Break ski trip with us to Colorado, that never happened. He’s been working in Seattle for about five years, so it’s a huge blessing to spend so much time with him. He plans to stay here until it’s over.
How many engineers does it take to build a fence? Apparently two, because our boys are both engineers, but Steve is the only one who’s built a fence before. Ryan is a software engineer for Shazam in Johnston. The boys were both sore the next day and decided they really like their desk jobs. 🙂 They are both very happy to still have their jobs and be working from home. What a blessing to have them around to help. I’ve been busy getting the gardens ready for Spring. I’ve tilled the gardens and added new top soil. I’ve been weeding all the other areas, getting ready to put down new mulch. I love working outside in the sunshine and dirt! I’ve also been leading my Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) discussion group meetings via Zoom and doing Zoom meetings with the Joy Stampers. Would you believe a week ago I had never done Zoom before? It’s a whole new world. Please leave a comment and tell me what you’ve been doing and how you’re doing.
Blessings,
Beth

WOW!!! I love this and the idea of one frame for the four seasons is great. I’m all for recycling.
I love Samplers ! I use to make them for seasons so I am inspired by yours to start some new ones !
Just adorable !
Thanks so much for your pictures and news about your family. I’ve missed that. So how is it with your kids home a lot of the time. Bigger grocery bills!
I’ve been doing a lot of sewing and quilting, finishing projects from years ago. Yesterday I finished the center of a 20+ block quilt started in 2012! Still have borders and quilting to do. I have4 other quilts in the works. One is a 50 state block exchange quilt started in 1995, first ever online quilt. Someday I might even get back to card making! I miss you all. I hope Steve’s health is good.
How is Marcelyn? Do you not do Marcelyn Mondays any more?
