I truly enjoy making treat holders and other 3-D gift items. This Pop Up Gift Card Holder has been a favorite of mine for years.
Who would love to receive one of these? Did you know every week on Tuesdays at 7pm CT Steve and I do a live video and give away one of the cards we made? Janice Driver won this week’s card. I’ll give the other one away to someone who leaves a comment on this blog post. Subscribe to my YouTube channel here and you’ll get notified each week when I do my live video.

I like to make a template so I can pull it out next time and know exactly how to make it again. All the measurements and directions are on the video here.
We celebrated Steve’s birthday in Dubuque, IA recently and here he is pitching to FFA high school kids at the Field of Dreams. This is where the movie, Field of Dreams, was made starring Kevin Costner. One famous line in the movie is ” Is this heaven? No it’s Iowa.” Steve wrote the paragraph below talking about the experience.
Surprisingly, our visit to the Field of Dreams in Dyerville ended up being my favorite excursion on my birthday weekend in Dubuque. It is the location where the movie “Field of Dreams” was filmed, including the ball field that was built in the middle of a corn field. I love the movie, and it was fun seeing where it was filmed. While we were on the ball field, on a whim I decided to pitch a softball to Beth, which she actually hit. 🙂 Then ten kids from a visiting FFA group asked me to pitch to them. An hour later, I was sweaty and happy, as each of the FFA kids was excited to hit the ball. They asked if I worked there, and their teacher explained that I was just being nice. I remembered how much I enjoy encouraging high school kids and interacting with them. It was a very fulfilling experience.
I enjoyed watching Steve interact with the kids. He actually convinced each of them they could hit the ball and then they would actually hit the ball. It was also funny that most of the kids were sure he worked there. Steve decided he must be a professional baseball player if they were paying him to pitch at the Field of Dreams! 🙂
This week’s Festive Friday Design Team’s challenge #FF0172 is Black Friday! The day following Thanksgiving—commonly referred to as Black Friday—has become one of the busiest shopping days of the year in the United States. National chain stores traditionally offer limited money-saving specials on a wide variety of goods in an effort to lure shoppers into stores while offering similar deals online.
The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project. Incorporate THREE of the items in your project and link up! And guess what? Your project doesn’t have to be about Black Friday-at all! #festivefridaychallenge I hope you’ll make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item and join us. If you want help entering, please email me at Beth@StampingMom.com and I’d be happy to help you! Even if you’ve never entered a card challenge before, now is the time to start. It’s fun and it’s free! It will help inspire your creativity. Please join us!
From the Inspo List I used bold colors, sequins and geometric patterns.

I really like this gift card holder idea! Thanks for sharing!
I enjoyed the video on making this gift card holder with tips and tricks. So cute. Of course the trip to Geneva/Dubuque was a highlight. I can just see Steve pitching that ball a zillion times for all the tourists. The template will be a big help in making one of these.
