Here’s some more cards I made with the Paper Florist dies. This one has a 70’s vibe.
This card has a Pebbled Path background. I thought it would make the flowers pop but I ended up liking the Azure Afternoon background better. Which one do you like better? I love to read your comments!

This is the mailbox planter in front of our house. Some of you won’t be surprised to learn that I like bright & happy colors in my flowers, just like my cards!
God’s creation is amazing! I love all the different colors of orange and the different colors of stripes. Each bloom of the Tiger Lily plant lasts only one day and there are new blooms each morning.
Last summer I had ACL repair surgery and wasn’t able to do much in my gardens. I could feel the decline in my mental and physical health. This summer every moment I spend outdoors in with my flowers, fruit and vegetables is even sweeter. Today I was pondering whether it’s a real thing or if I just imagined it. I googled it, and here’s some information I found:
Why is gardening so important?
The health benefits of gardening have been well-documented. Being outside increases your exposure to Vitamin D and the weight-bearing exercise of gardening is good for bones and the heart. One study even found that gardening decreases your risk of dementia! (I have dementia in my family so anything that lessens my risk is a very good thing.)
How does gardening affect the brain?
Gardening can improve many aspects of mental health, focus, and concentration. Improves mood. Gardening can make you feel more peaceful and content. Focusing your attention on the immediate tasks and details of gardening can reduce negative thoughts and feelings and can make you feel better in the moment. (I do feel “happier” in the non-winter months and I believe gardening makes the difference.)
Does gardening boost immune system?
Another interesting benefit of working in your garden is a better immune system. Exposure to bacteria and microorganisms found in soil can boost your immunity and keep you healthier. It is possible that gardening can alleviate symptoms of allergies, asthma, and skin conditions caused by a weaker immune system. (I never wear gloves when I garden because I think it helps to have dirt under my fingernails and it’s easier to pull the weeds. I rarely ever get sick.)
Our daughter lives in an apartment while going to grad school. She is growing tomatoes, cherry tomatoes and bell peppers on her apartment balcony. Even if you don’t have a yard, you can still do some gardening and improve your physical and mental health.
The neighbors have noticed the awesome container garden growing on her balcony.
She’s so excited about her cherry tomatoes! They are sweet like candy. 🙂
