Reese’s Peanut Butter Heart Box

Who knew Stampin’ Up! had a gift box for Reese’s Peanut Butter Hearts?  My kid’s favorite treat to receive for any holiday is Reese’s Peanut Butter ________!  You know…Hearts, Eggs, Pumpkins, Christmas Trees etc.  Does Reese’s make a Peanut Butter Turkey?  They would like that too.  Anyway, I was wishing there was a cute box for which to gift my Valentine Reese’s Peanut Butter Hearts.  I started trying to figure out what size box I needed, when I noticed that Stampin’ Up! has a 1.75 x 1.75 x 3.25 box size on the Gift Box Punch Board.  This is a great box to put one, or even two Reese’s Peanut Butter treats.

It is a very cute and easy box.  So I made more boxes since I have more kids. 🙂

Then I decided I needed a cute card and matching envelope to go with the box.

I got to see my college son last night at a concert, so here’s what I gave him for Valentine’s Day.

The only paper I used for this project was Real Red Cardstock and the Stacked With Love Designer Series Paper Stack.  I still had the paper sitting out on my desk, when my husband went in my stamping office this morning and created a couple cards on his own.  Here’s the one he made for me.  He also made one for our sweet daughter.  He wrote a note to our youngest son on a post it note.  I guess he decided our son didn’t need another card.

Isn’t he sweet!  You can tell he agrees with my philosophy of making cute and quick cards and gifts.  If you haven’t finished your Valentines, I suggest making a  Reese’s Peanut Butter treat box.

Mother’s Love Birthday card

Welcome to the February Pals Blog Hop. This month we are sharing what we love – our favorite Stampin’ Up! products and our favorite crafting techniques.

You may just be starting the blog hop or may have come from Becky Volpp at InkBlossomwithBecky.com. Use the full lineup below to move along from blog to blog so you see all of the new projects.

I have so many favorite Stampin’ Up! products!  I rarely make a card without using my Big Shot.  When Stampin’ Up! first started selling Big Shots, I was sure I didn’t need one.  Well I was wrong.  It is the most versatile machine ever.  I love that it doesn’t need batteries or have computer controls.  It works everywhere, all the time, with no instruction manual needed.  Sale-A-Bration is the best time to get a Big Shot, if you don’t already own one.  You will get two free Sale-A-Bration items with the purchase of a Big Shot.

I used Mother’s Love from the Stampin’ Up! Occasions Catalog to make a birthday card for my Mom.  I stamped the flower in black Momento ink.  I used the Melon Mambo Blendabilities to color in the flower and Wild Wasabi for the leaves.  Coloring with Blendabilities is so much fun!  Blendabilities is another product that at first glance I wasn’t sure I needed. I have found that coloring with Blendabilites relieves stress, and I really like the cards colored with Blendabilities.

I love the Backgrounds Designer Series Paper Stacks for making sure the envelopes are cute and color coordinated.  Do you feel special when the card you receive has a matching envelope?  I know I do.

The Oval Collection Framelits do a great job “framing” the artwork.  They have become my new “go to” item for my cute and simple cards.

After I cut the Melon Mambo oval rim for the black card, I had this beautiful leftover piece of Melon Mambo left that seemed like it needed to be made into a card too.  Above is a picture of the card I made with leftovers. Which do you like better?  My original black card or my “leftover” melon Mambo card?  Click on “Mother’s Love Birthday Card” title at the top of this post and then scroll back to the bottom to find the comment box, if you would like to leave a comment.  Thanks so much!

I LOVE the Lotus Blossom Stamp Set!  I tend to buy flower sets and this is the best flower set ever!  It’s essentially a three step flower and a free SAB item.

I used Basic Gray for the first step of the flower.  Bermuda Bay was used for the second step, and Bermuda Bay stamped off once, was used for step three.  I made my card Note Card size    (5 x 3 1/2).  Don’t limit yourself to only Whisper White and Crumb Cake Note Cards.  The white piece is cut with the third smallest Oval Framelit.  The Bermuda Bay ring is cut using the fourth and fifth smallest Oval Framelits.

I made the envelope with the Envelope Punch Board and used Confetti Celebration DSP on the flap.  Who doesn’t love a matching envelope?

I’m sending this card to a dear friend, who made my family a delicious dinner while I was out of town last week.  Thanks Janene!
