National Day of Encouragement

National Encouragement Day is the day following Sept. 11, a day full of hurt, confusion and hopelessness. Sept. 12 seemed an appropriate time to acknowledge the importance of coming together and encouraging others. Encouragement matters. National Day of Encouragement is a day dedicated to uplifting those around us and making a positive impact, no matter the magnitude. It’s that simple. You can encourage one another in many ways including encouraging words, letters, prayers, phone calls and sending cards. I’ve always loved the quote below from Mark Twain.

You don’t have to wait until September 12. Who can you encourage today?

It’s time for another Festive Friday Challenge! I love being a designer for Festive Friday and this week’s challenge #FF0066 is National Day of Encouragement (September 12th). The Inspo List is 10 items you can choose from to create your project. Incorporate THREE or more of the items in your project and link up! #festivefridaychallenge I hope you’ll make a card, scrapbook page or 3-D item and join us. I used bright colors, heart, ribbon, foil paper, uplifting sentiment, sparkle, pretty paper, rhinestones off the Inspo List. Pick 3 off the list, make something and enter our Festive Friday Challenge. What are you waiting for?

Demonstrators from around the world created a MEGA Bundle of Tutorials! There are a WHOPPING 82 tutorials in this bundle! You’ll want it for the fall season and beyond. You’ll be able to use the measurements and directions with other stamp sets as well. My Double Step card tutorial is in there and I made it super simple to replicate.

As you can see by the image above, there is a wide variety of different projects (only 49 are shown in the image and there are 82 in the Bundle). Each tutorial contains a product list, measurements (in both Inches and Metric) and step-by-step instructions.

Feels Like Frost Fun Fold

My happiest season is Christmas, so on this hot summer day in Iowa I brought out the Feels Like Frost Designer Series Paper (DSP) and the beautiful new Dove of Hope Bundle. The Feels Like Frost DSP sold out early last year and I wouldn’t be surprised if it doesn’t sell out again this year.

I recently learned how to make this fun fold card with the pop out surprise inside. It works especially well if you have a “scene type” DSP. This silver embossed dove looks awesome popping out as you open the card.

Here’s another card that shows how it looks with “scene” DSP and also what the card looks like closed. This may be one of my Christmas cards this year because I enjoyed making these cards so much and I like the “wow” factor of the pop up inside.
