Stampin’ Up

Gone Fishing Vest

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is the New 2023-2025 In Colors. We hope you will be inspired by all the creations the Pals share with you! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

My favorite new In Color is Boho Blue. Boho Blue pairs nicely with Night of Navy. I just received my new Gone Fishing Bundle and wanted to make a fishing vest. That’s how I came up with this card for the Pals Blog Hop. I proudly showed my card to my husband, Steve, and he said guys don’t carry dead fish in their fishing vests and the vests are usually beige. I don’t make beige cards, I make bright and happy cards and the fish signal to the card recipient that it’s a fishing vest. So having used all the creative license I could muster, I left the card exactly how it was. So what do you think, is Steve right or are you on my side? You can leave me a comment as I’d love to hear your opinion (and have you back me up!).

Back to the new In Colors, I also used Pebbled Path and Wild Wheat. I consider all the new In colors except Boho Blue awesome complimentary colors, but for my cards they probably won’t be the main event.

Here’s the inside of the card, it opens like a gatefold card. I used the Countryside Corners and 1/16″ strips to make the pockets. You can see all the products I used to make this card at the bottom of my post. At the beginning of my live video last night I showed this card and talked about how I made it. You can check if out of you’re interested.

More inspiration awaits, so use the lineup below to visit the rest of the Design Team. The Pals are very excited to show you what they’ve created! Then, please mark your calendars for our next blog hop on July 12th, when our theme will be CASE the Catalog, when the design team chooses a card from the new Annual Catalog and recreates it with their own creative twist.

Until then, have fun in your craft space.

I made some cards using 1/4″ strips. I tried to leave about the same amount of space between each strip. The colors I used were Melon Mambo, Daffodil Delight, Highland Heather and Coastal Cabana on the birthday card.  On the Feel Better Soon card the colors were Blueberry Bushel, Parakeet Party, Azure Afternoon and Tahitian Tide.

Video

This was a very fun card to make. Here’s a video showing how to make this card. The Wanted to Say dies are a must have for every card makers collection. The other layering words in this set are “Feel Better Soon,” “Celebrate,” and “you’re too kind.”

I’m the group leader for an awesome Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) group and they are all my sweet sisters in Christ. When we get finished discussing the lesson each week, we stand and hold hands and pray together. My favorite artist, Tricia Robinson, painted this beautiful picture and my group presented it to me this week. This is the best gift ever! I love this picture so much and what it means to me!! Thank you from the bottom of my heart, dear friends! 🙂

Buy Stampin’ Up at a Discount!

There’s a Joining Special for the month of June, 2023. Choose $155 in product and pay only $99 plus tax with free shipping!

Being a Stampin’ Up demo is similar to having a Costco membership, except there is no annual fee. You get to purchase great products at a discount. No strings attached. No further purchase required. No penalty for dropping. I get a lot of questions about becoming a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, so I thought I’d do a quick Q&A  on the most common questions I receive.

Please feel free to email me if you have any further questions at Beth@StampingMom.com We can set up a time to chat on the phone if you’re interested.

I don’t want to Demonstrate – can I just purchase my own products or do I have to hold parties or have a blog to join Stampin’ Up! ?

  • The ‘Demonstrator’ title is such a tricky one – I kind of wish it was called something else. Please don’t be put off by that ‘Demonstrator’ title. YOU can totally decide the way you want to do things: !) be your own best customer and just buy products for yourself; 2) have a few friends over for a cup of coffee and stamp, be a Party Person and have an amazing business opportunity; and/or 3) be Online and have a blog, Facebook business page – It’s TOTALLY your decision.
  • I have a team full of all sorts of lovely Peeps from all over the USA running their Stampin’ Up! journey as a hobby or a business. I welcome everyone. You’re the boss – and I love that about Stampin’ Up!
  • I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator for 20 years and I’ve been all of the above. In the beginning I only joined to purchase for myself at a discount and was strictly a hobby demo. (Why pay full price when you can get a discount?) Then friends started coming over to stamp with me and some started buying from me. I’ve run a monthly classes while being a stay at home mom to four kids and now I have an in home and online business that I LOVE. As Demonstrators, we get to decide for ourselves and we can change it up or down whenever we want.

How much is the Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator Starter Kit? What’s in it?

  • The Stampin’ Up! Starter kit is just $99 plus tax and by ordering it through me HERE you also become one of my Joy Team members and join the fun of an instant stamping family. As a hobby or a business, I love, support and value all my amazing Joy Team friends.
  • While the kit is just $99 it has a retail value of $125 worth of products and $80 worth of Business Supplies – thats $146 of FREE product and supplies. (June 1-30, 2023 you get to choose $155 worth of products for $99.)

Are there quarterly sales requirements and what are actual dates?

  • To remain an active Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator and continue to receive the 20% discount on your purchases you are required to purchase or sell $300 retail quarter… of course if these purchases are for yourself – you get the minimum 20% Demonstrator discount applied straight away so as a Demonstrator you’ll never really pay that full $300 retail.
  • The Stampin’ Up! year is broken up into 4 quarters. These are: January 1st – March 31st, April 1st – June 30th, July 1st – September 30th, October 1st to December 31st.

What if I join part way through a quarter?

  • You have 1 FULL quarter to achieve your first quarterly minimum. So even if you join 1 day into a new quarter, you still receive all of that remaining quarter PLUS the next full quarter to achieve your first quarterly minimums.

I love those Host Rewards – do I still get those if I’m a Demonstrator?

  • This is the bit I love – As a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator you still qualify for Host Rewards when you place a qualifying order of $150 or more!! That’s in addition to getting 20% discount off your Stampin’ Up! Products. Total win/win.

I know I can get 20% discount on my purchases – but how do I earn money by selling Stampin’ Up!?

  • While there is no obligation to sell or hold workshops as a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator, you do have the potential to earn an income so it’s worth knowing how.
  • When you sell a product to a customer instead of earning 20% discount you earn a 20% commission on that sale. The Demonstrator website works it all out for you and it’s a really easy computer system to get your head around.
  • In addition to the instant 20% income for all Demonstrators,  there is the ability to earn rebates from Stampin’ Up! based on monthly sales AND increase your instant income to 25% along the way.
  • And if you have a team, there’s extra earning potential there too.

I might like to make this a business in the future, perhaps I’d like to hold parties, have an online business like you Nicole or make and sell my own cards – can you give me advice?

  • I sure can. I offer exclusive support and advice to all the Demonstrators that join Stampin’ Up! with me. We can make a plan together whenever you’re ready.

I’m not local to you Beth – is that ok? (I am located in the middle of the USA in Des Moines, IA)

  • Absolutely. I have Demonstrators in my team from all over the United States. We’re a friendly bunch and meet weekly viz Zoom to learn a new fun fold card, share what we’ve been working on, find out the Stampin’ Up news and share life together. We also have a private Facebook page. We do card swaps, sampler swaps, team meetings and a Christmas party.
  • We’re part of a large national team with lots of opportunity to win free products and get additional training. It’s the best of both worlds to get to be part of our Joy Team and also be part of the large national team.
  • I’m here to support you in your goals as much or as little as you need me. I’m here online most days, via phone, email and even by live interactive video chats.
  • We do card swaps, sampler swaps and more.

Do you hold any events I can attend in person?

  • Yes! Everyone in my team is invited to our in-person events.
  • Stampin’ Up! also have fantastic events called Onstage – amazing for seeing new products, getting to socialize with other crafty folk and get great tips and ideas. We go to OnStage and hang out as a team.
  • Here’s a picture of the table for our annual Christmas party we have in the summer so out-of-state team members can more easily travel to Iowa. We have a delicious dinner, gift exchange, games and more.

So what’s the catch?

  • That was my exact thoughts when I first found Stampin’ Up! – but there really isn’t one (believe me I looked). There are no annual fees and no penalty fees if you decide it’s not for you and you don’t have to give anything back if you don’t continue.

I am ready to join, what do I know?

  • Create a list of $125 in product of your choice, just remember you can’t go over $125.  (Between June 1-30, 2023 you can choose $155 in product!)
  • Once you have your list ready, you will click HERE to sign up.
  • If you have any questions or need assistance, please reach out – I am happy to help! Email me at Beth@StampingMom.com and if you’d like to chat on the phone, please let me know. I would love to have you on our Joy Team!!
