Mother’s Love- Red version
Recently for the Pals February Blog Hop I showed the Mother’s Love pink birthday cards. See the pink cards here.
Today I’m showing you the red version. I used the Oval Framelits to cut the oval from the red paper cut at 5 1/4 x 4. I then used that “leftover” piece to make the card on the left. Whenever I cut Stampin’ Up! card stock or Designer Series Paper (DSP), I try to think about how to cut it and get to use the “leftover” piece. I also organize the scraps from the card stock and DSP.
My craft room used to be covered in card stock scraps that I planned to sort by color some day. Well, some day usually didn’t happen… then my world was changed. I now have a four drawer file cabinet that has significantly simplified my retired paper and scrap paper storage. Here’s a picture of my “current Stampin’ Up! colors” scrap drawer. I use my scraps. It’s easy to put them away. Problem solved! Two other drawers are for retired Stampin’ Up! cardstock. In those I keep both the full sheets and the scraps together in the same folder. If you are looking for a package of retired Stampin’ Up! card stock, please email me. I probably have it.
I put the ten current “In colors” in the front. I have the rest of the current colors starting with yellow and going all the way to black at the far back. Since I have gone through Stampin’ Up! color family changes, I’ve found it’s easier for me to not worry about the color families -Brights, Subtles, Regals and Neutrals. I have all the yellows from light to dark and then the pinks light to dark, etc. I never have any trouble finding the color I’m looking for. When I start making a card I check the scrap drawer before cutting a new full sheet.
I have a file folder for each color labeled and a circle sample of the color. Let me know if you’re interested in how I store my DSP or current colors full sheets.
