Mom’s 75th Birthday!

StampinUp birthday card designed by demo Beth McCullough. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

Mom celebrated her 75th Birthday yesterday!  She told me 75 seemed really old.  I had thought about making a card with the Number of Years set and putting a big “75” on the front of the card.  She said she was much happier with the flowers.  Note to self, this set might be more appropriate for birthdays with smaller numbers. 🙂  Anyway Mom doesn’t look or act 75.

I used Mojo Monday and The Paper Players challenges to create her card.  For The Paper Players I used the left column, flowers, die cuts and yellow.  The Designer Series Paper I used is Botanical Gardens.  The colors are Hello Honey and Mint Macaron.  I love the new Botanical Builder Framelits Dies to make all kinds of awesome flowers.

We celebrated at Fire Creek Restaurant in WestDesMoines.  It was a cold winter night and we had delicious food and great conversation while sitting by the roaring fire.  A great way to celebrate Mom’s birthday!

Please leave a comment or question.  I love hearing from you!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

A Whole Lot of Lovely

StampinUp thank you card made with the A Whole Lot of Lovely stamp set. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

For the first time ever, I used two challenges to inspire my card.  Pals Paper Arts provided the color challenge and Freshly Made Sketches gave me the sketch challenge.  I’ve never used these three colors together, but I must say I like it!

A Whole Lot of Lovely is a Hostess set from the 2015-16 annual Stampin’ Up! catalog.  I can see many uses for this “Thank You” stamp.  I used clear embossing powder on the sentiment and punched out flowers and used Candy Dots on some of the flowers.  I’ve included links to the supplies I used below.  Please let me know if you have comments or questions.

Believe it or not, today Steve and I took down the Christmas tree and put all the other Christmas decorations away.  I loved my tree this year decorated in bright and happy colors.  Every time I came in the house or walked downstairs, seeing the tree would make me smile.  I was telling a good friend about this and she told me seeing her tree up made her think of “work” as in work that needed to be done.  Since it is more than a month after Christmas and we heard the kids trying to explain to their friends why we still had a tree up, we decided it was time.  Steve did mention if we just left it up, we wouldn’t have to put it up again next year.  I decided the tree would get very dusty and I’ll try to survive the rest of this cold Iowa winter without my smile inducing tree!

StampinUp Gluten Free Sweet Treats- you can find the recipe on my blog www.Stampingmom.com/... Stampin' Up! demo Beth McCullough #StampingMom

A tradition in our family is making Gluten Free Sweet Treats for Valentine’s Day, Halloween, Christmas and other holidays. Back in the day when we first started making this, gluten free wasn’t a thing.  I adapted the recipe and it’s still very yummy!

With the addition of a cute tag, I’m ready to surprise and delight someone!  Stamping can be so quick and easy.  If you’ve never done it, you should try it.

Gluten Free Sweet Treats

  • 8 c. Gluten Free Rice Chex
  • 2 c. Peanuts (I use Trader Joe’s 50% Less Salt Roasted & Salted Peanuts)
  • 1 16 oz. M&M’s ( I typically use the holiday M&M’s)
  • 1 pkg. Almond Bark
  • 4 oz. Snyder of Hanover Gluten Free Pretzel Sticks

Melt Almond Bark in the microwave on low.  Mix in other ingredients and spread onto waxed paper.  Store in a covered dish.
