Now that the year is coming to a close, you’ll soon be finished with your 2016 calendar.  This tutorial will demonstrate how to create a set of colorful envelopes from the calendar photos.  Instructions are also included for making a set of note cards that feature the same clean and simple design, but you’ll learn how to sort the envelopes so that similar and coordinating colors can be used to stamp the images on the cards.  Lastly, since you may wish to give your finished card set as a gift, this tutorial includes instructions for a gift box.

When I woke up this morning it was -13 degrees.  I decided it would be a great day to stay home and get some fun Christmas treats made.  Abby wanted some treats to give her friends.  She filled the bags with M&M’s while I worked on the Moose toppers.

This is what we made for Abby’s friends last year.  They loved them!  This is also my most popular Pinterest pin of all time!

Keegan and I went to Willy Wonka at the Des Moines Playhouse last night.  It was an awesome show and I love having a date night with my 16 year old.

Sean and Ryan are in Hawaii for a week.  This is their first vacation without our family.  The first thing they figured out was it’s very expensive to go on vacation and especially to Hawaii!  While in college they always chose to go with us instead of their friends, because we pay if they go with us and they pay if they go with friends.  Sean is funding most of this vacation for both of them because Ryan is a poor college student.  I’ll be glad when they get home safely!

Merry Christmas!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Letters and Textures & Shapes (Oh, My!)

Today’s Craft Project Central project is designed by Buffy Cooper.
Keeping small children entertained during the cold winter months when they can’t go outside can be a challenge. With this tutorial, you’ll use the Stitched Shapes and Large Letters Framelits to create “puzzle letters” that your children can use to make words and play matching games. The Gift Box Punch Board box doubles as a container for the letters and can be another sorting game. Customize the box and tag with your child’s initial, and you have a fun gift for a snowy day.

If you would like to see the complete project, and learn how to make it, you’ll want to subscribe for the month of December. With your subscription, you’ll get illustrated, step-by-step instructions for 10 wonderful projects for only $10! You can find out how to gain access to a bonus eleventh project over at Craft Project Central.

It’s freezing cold in Iowa today.  I hope it’s warm where you are.

Blessings,
