Tin of Cards Alternative Ideas

StampinUp Tin of Cards alternative ideas made by demo Beth McCullough. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

I’ve been a Stampin’ Up! demo since 2003.  I used to do classes in my home, but a few years ago I stopped doing them.  Thankfully, some of my friends have encouraged me to start up again.  My first class was two weeks ago and I did a Tin of Cards class.  Well, I have some very creative friends and customers and we came up with some alternative ideas.  I’m just now finishing off all the cards from my kit.  Because I’m trying to send everyone a birthday card this year, inspired by Shannon West’s mission, “#imbringingbirthdaysback,” I’m making mostly birthday cards. See Shannon’s story here

I’d love to send you a card in the mail! Please email me your name, address and birthday and I’ll send you a homemade card around the time of your birthday.  bethmcc6@gmail.com

This week I’m having a Paper Pumpkin class.  Here’s some of the cards we’re making.

StampinUp Paper Pumpkin Feb 2016. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

Paper Pumpkin is a wonderful craft experience in a box for only $20 per month.  If you sign up by April 10 you get an exclusive stamp set in addition to one of the regular stamp sets contained in each Paper Pumpkin.  See a Paper Pumpkin video here.  If you purchase your Paper Pumpkin through me, the monthly class is free.  For those in the Des Moines area, my next class is Thursday, April 7!  Please let me know if you’d like to come.

I’ll post more Tin of Cards Alternative ideas over the next couple days.

My youngest pup, Molly has been sick for a couple days.  Think graphic and messy.  Well $150 later, I’m so relieved she doesn’t have cancer.  She did get a shot and pills and I think she’s starting to feel better already. Maya and Molly have a therapy dog visit to make on Friday, so I hope she will be able to go.  The Assisted Living and Memory Care facilities we visit love Maya and Molly and I hate to disappoint them.

Sweet Thank You

StampinUp thank you card made with the Apple of My Eye stamp set, designed by demo Beth McCullough. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

My very sweet college friend, Sharon, came over today to give me a tutorial on selling on ebay.  I have about 15 years of retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets and it’s time to sell some.  (If there’s a specific one you are looking for, let me know and I might have it.)  Anyway, Sharon got more than she bargained for, not realizing it would take 2 1/2 hours to get me up to speed.  OK, so we did have problems with my very old iPad.  Superman if you’re reading this, I could use a new iPad for my birthday!  Spending $500 will somehow save you money on ebay sales in the long run. 🙂

Well, I knew  I needed to make Sharon a card and I love this week’s Global Design Project sketch shown above.

Here’s the inside of Sharon’s card.  I’m going to write on a post it note instead of inside the card, so Sharon has a cute thank you to pass on to someone else.  I should probably add a couple more cards to thank her also.

I love adding something to the envelope to make it special.

We had such a busy weekend.  Superman and I took Abby to her first college visit on Friday.  I didn’t bother to tell the college that I will miss Abby terribly and I’m not actually letting her leave home next year. 🙂  On Saturday we went to the district Individual Speech contest.  Abby has never participated in this before and was quite nervous before it started.  She did a memorized public address and also a lit program.  She was thrilled to get a “1” on both and will be moving on to the state contest.  Keegan was busy with a jazz competition for part of the day on Friday and was happy to have the house to himself.

I’d love to hear your questions or comments.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

A Whole Lot of Lovely

StampinUp thank you card made with the A Whole Lot of Lovely stamp set. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom

For the first time ever, I used two challenges to inspire my card.  Pals Paper Arts provided the color challenge and Freshly Made Sketches gave me the sketch challenge.  I’ve never used these three colors together, but I must say I like it!

A Whole Lot of Lovely is a Hostess set from the 2015-16 annual Stampin’ Up! catalog.  I can see many uses for this “Thank You” stamp.  I used clear embossing powder on the sentiment and punched out flowers and used Candy Dots on some of the flowers.  I’ve included links to the supplies I used below.  Please let me know if you have comments or questions.

Believe it or not, today Steve and I took down the Christmas tree and put all the other Christmas decorations away.  I loved my tree this year decorated in bright and happy colors.  Every time I came in the house or walked downstairs, seeing the tree would make me smile.  I was telling a good friend about this and she told me seeing her tree up made her think of “work” as in work that needed to be done.  Since it is more than a month after Christmas and we heard the kids trying to explain to their friends why we still had a tree up, we decided it was time.  Steve did mention if we just left it up, we wouldn’t have to put it up again next year.  I decided the tree would get very dusty and I’ll try to survive the rest of this cold Iowa winter without my smile inducing tree!
