Today was a very good day!  Keegan, our youngest, turned 16 today and got his Driver’s License.  He is one happy dude!  Keegan is a sweet, smart, kind young man and we feel very blessed to have him as our son.

Abby found out today she is a National Merit Semi-Finalist!  Most students in the U.S. take a PSAT test in October of their junior year.  The top one percent in each state become a National Merit Semi- Finalist.  Next February they announce the Finalists, many of whom get full ride, or free tuition scholarships to college.  Abby wants to study Biomedical Engineering and then go to medical school to become a Neurologist or grad school to do research to help cure Alzheimer’s and Dementia.  She is thrilled to now have some of her college paid for so she can afford medical/grad school without going hugely in debt.  If you have younger kids or grand kids and want to hear more about the National Merit Scholarship program, please let know.  I’d be happy to tell you about it and hopefully help make the cost of college reduced for your kiddo too.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for September 2016. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our new 2016 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month our projects represent our favorite year end Season. It may be Autumn, Winter, Halloween, Thanksgiving or Christmas (and maybe even a combination!) We hope to provide you with lots of ideas and that you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

After I quickly eliminated Winter from my list of favorite seasons ( I do live in Iowa where it’s very cold and very snowy for a very long time each winter) I had a hard time picking between the rest. Autumn in Iowa is gorgeous and probably my favorite time, but I also love Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas! I love making cards, but boxes are probably my very favorite thing to make. Last week I made this 3 Nugget Box. Jan commented and asked me to design a 5 Nugget Box.

So Jan, this one is for you, my very first 5 Nugget Box.

The Petals & Paisleys Specialty DSP is perfect for Autumn or Thanksgiving.

I first used traditional Milk Chocolate Hershey’s Nuggets wrapped in silver foil. This DSP seemed like gold would be a better choice. Abby graciously ran to the store and got some Milk Chocolate with Toffee & Almonds wrapped in gold foil. ( These Nuggets are very tasty!) I do like how they look with gold.

Which do you like the 3 Nugget box or the 5 Nugget box? I always make a “to go” treat for my guests at our big Thanksgiving Day celebration. Since they always go home so full, I may use this DSP but cut back to the 3 Nugget box.

Please stop back tomorrow for picture directions to make the 5 Nugget box. Please subscribe to my blog.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Hope you had a good weekend.  We did.  Our Hawkeyes won, the Cubs are still winning, Ryan came home from college, and I had lots of time to stamp.  I can’t show you everything I stamped, however. Have I told you “the box” arrived!  Yep, I received a free box of goodies from Stampin’ Up! that will be in the Occasions catalog in January 2017.  It’s top secret though.  I can’t even show my team members.  Abby knew I was waiting for “the box.”  When it arrived she ran and found me and helped me open it.  I think she was excited as I was!  I actually had to sign a legal document that I wouldn’t share anything that was in the box, so please don’t even ask… In November after our convention in Kansas City, I will show you all the pictures of everything I made.  I need to make ten different projects so if I say I’m stamping but you don’t see any evidence, you’ll just know I’m working with the cool toys in “the box.”  Needless to say the Occasions 2017 catalog is going to be awesome!

I also had time to paint the foundation on two sides of my house today.  Our home went from gray to taupe in 2009, but suddenly this weekend I decided it was time to paint the foundation.  Actually, we ripped out our 30 year old bushes this summer so I can now see the foundation that doesn’t match.  I have one more side to complete.  When I was painting I also noticed the door from the garage to the backyard is also gray.  Not sure why I hadn’t noticed that before now.  It’s on the list!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂
