Yummy in My Tummy

Welcome to the Pals Blog Hop for February 2017. We are thankful you stopped by to take a look at our 2017 Blog Hop monthly themes.  This month we are CASE’ing a project shown in a current Stampin’ Up! catalog. After all, with the Annual, Occasions and Sale-a-Bration catalogs available right now, there is much inspiration from which to choose. We hope you enjoy our creations.

You may just be starting the Blog Hop or may have come from the previous link from the Line-up on the Pals Blog Hop listing shown below.  The full lineup will help you move along from blog to blog so you may see all the projects.

My kids are ages 16-26, no one is married and I have no grand kids.  In spite of that, these adorable monsters jumped off the page and begged me to buy them.  I resisted and borrowed the set from a friend.   I had so much fun casing the catalog on page 16 of the 2017 Occasions Stampin’ Up! catalog, I ended up ordering them!  I think you should order them too! 🙂

Above is the picture from the catalog.

This project uses Tasty Treats Specialty Designer Series Paper (DSP).  The monster is colored with Pool Party ink and a blender pen.  The paws, horns and hat are Pear Pizzazz.  His teeth, star on the hat and M&M’s are Crushed Curry.  In the catalog the entire bag was made with the DSP.  Because I’m thrifty, my bag has DSP only on the front and uses a white lunch sack that I cut down to size.  The back of my bag is covered with Pool Party cardstock.  I can make two bags from each sheet of DSP.  In the catalog I believe they used a window sheet and White Craft Stampin’ Ink.  I didn’t have the White ink, so I decided my monster would have a retired treat cup for his tummy.  I had so much fun figuring out how to make this adorable Monster Bag.  I’ll write a tutorial if you’re interested in specific directions.

On the Hugs tag I used different ribbon, but otherwise it’s pretty much the same as the catalog sample.  The cardstock is Pink Pirouette and the ink is Melon Mambo.  The Scalloped Tag Topper punch used on this tag is a must have punch! The only punches I use more are Circle punches.

Bloomin’ Heart Thinking of You card

Stampin Up Thinking of you card designed by demo Beth McCullough. Please see more card and gift ideas at www.StampingMom.com #StampingMom #cute&simplie4u

A friend of mine just moved her mother-in-law to Hospice and she asked that Valentine or other cards be sent to her to make her last Valentine’s Day her best ever!  Instead of my usual hot pink or red and black Valentines, I was hoping to make something more elegant that might be appreciated by an 80 something year old.

I used the Global Design Project Case the Designer for my inspiration on this card. #GDP072

The heart is cut from the Falling in Love DSP.  This paper is gorgeous! The other colors are Sahara Sand, Blusing Bride and Very Vanilla. I used clear embossing powder on the sentiment so it pops a little in real life.

First Graduation Card of the 2017 Season

What a fun day I had today!  I got to watch musical theater performances at the high school this morning.  My kids weren’t in it this time, but my friend’s daughter and other kids I know were fun to watch.  Truth be told, Broadway musicals are a passion of mine and I could happily sit and watch them for hours! I had a sweet lunch with one of my dearest friends and then a crafting session this afternoon. I used to do “Ladies Night Out” card parties all the time.  I would have up to ten gals at a time at my house and I’d have everything cut and ready to make the cards.  The problem was I would spend hours trying to “guess” what they may like to make.  It was very stressful and time consuming.  Lately, I have friends come over one or two at a time.  I do no prep work except make sure my Stamping Studio looks presentable.  I ask them what they want to make and we look at examples on the computer and other things I’ve already made in my studio and then we create something together.  Today we made Valentine candy boxes and a college graduation card.  Very fun, no stress, and everyone goes home happy because they made exactly what they wanted!  Which of my friends wants to stamp with me next?  Give me a call!

We decided to make this card a 6″ x 6″ card to have plenty of room for the “2017.”  We used the retired Stampin’ Up set Go, Graduate and some retired DSP to match Jenn’s school colors.

We also made a coordinating envelope to fit the larger card.  Now I need to make another special graduation card for Miss Abby who is graduating from high school in May!
