Iowa Hawkeye Football game.

Steve and I got to attend the Iowa Hawkeye/ Iowa State football game on Saturday.  The game was fun and the Hawkeyes won!  Yeah! I have to admit I attended Iowa State my freshman year, my three boys are all Iowa Staters, as well as my Dad and sister.  I secretly cheer for Iowa State too, so no matter who won, I would’ve been happy.  Steve and I graduated from Iowa and our sweet Abby goes to Iowa now.  My sophomore year I transferred to Iowa to be closer to my long time boyfriend, Steve, and it was the best decision ever!

I wish you could see the gold embossing in real life.  It’s really pretty.  As soon as I got this card made, I put it in with a Holiday catalog and mailed it off to a friend.

I then made a second one and used a smaller oval framelit so I could add the scallop gold layer.  This went out the door to another friend enclosed in the holiday catalog.  Which one do you like better?

We had a wonderful weekend with all four kids at home.  For the last few days, someone has left each day.  Tonight the pups and I were here alone thinking how quiet it is (even Steve left for a business trip).  Thankfully, four of the neighbor boys came over to jump on my trampoline in the backyard.  I enjoyed listening to them having a great time together.  I should bake them some cookies to make sure they keep coming over. 🙂

Thanks for sending me all the beautiful cards. Everyone who sent a card, got a card in exchange in the mail.  Please let me know if you would like to participate when we do another One on One card swap!

We had a teenage issue at our house today.  It started when I opened a Costco size (very large) container of fresh raspberries for breakfast.  I had an an awesome breakfast of Coconut Yogurt, almonds, frozen blueberries and delicious fresh raspberries.  I liked it so much, I thought I might have it again for lunch after BSF.  Problem was, when I got home at noon, the empty raspberry container was in the garbage.  Apparently Keegan had raspberries for breakfast as well.  All the raspberries!  I have a secret I haven’t told my kids.  I have an entire garden devoted to raspberries every summer.  I go out each morning during raspberry season and eat them all before I get back into the house.  If today is any indication, I hope Keegan never finds out about the Raspberry garden. 🙂

I ended up having delicious Creamy Chicken Wild Rice Soup for lunch instead.  I made it Sunday for the first time and it was super good!  Keegan got home after school famished, after having only raspberries for breakfast.  He went back for cup after cup of the soup.  Steve called at 5 to tell me he was on his way home and couldn’t wait to have some soup.  (It’s freezing in Iowa and we got several inches of snow today, so soup sounded really good!)  I told him Keegan ate ALL the soup and ALL the raspberries.  Steve told me to lock the refrigerator and keep Keegan away from it until he got home so there would be something left for him to eat.  LOL  Life with a hungry 17 year old who’s 6’3″!  Good thing we love him so much!
