One on One Card Swap- Stampin Up Style

Here’s another post I put the pictures in during December and forgot to post.  Someone told me at BSF Leadership today they couldn’t tell I really have memory issues, I guess they don’t read my blog. 🙂  Here’s some beautiful cards exchanged in our One on One Card Swap before Christmas.

Thanks for sending me all the beautiful cards. Everyone who sent a card, got a card in exchange in the mail.  Please let me know if you would like to participate when we do another One on One card swap!

We had a teenage issue at our house today.  It started when I opened a Costco size (very large) container of fresh raspberries for breakfast.  I had an an awesome breakfast of Coconut Yogurt, almonds, frozen blueberries and delicious fresh raspberries.  I liked it so much, I thought I might have it again for lunch after BSF.  Problem was, when I got home at noon, the empty raspberry container was in the garbage.  Apparently Keegan had raspberries for breakfast as well.  All the raspberries!  I have a secret I haven’t told my kids.  I have an entire garden devoted to raspberries every summer.  I go out each morning during raspberry season and eat them all before I get back into the house.  If today is any indication, I hope Keegan never finds out about the Raspberry garden. 🙂

I ended up having delicious Creamy Chicken Wild Rice Soup for lunch instead.  I made it Sunday for the first time and it was super good!  Keegan got home after school famished, after having only raspberries for breakfast.  He went back for cup after cup of the soup.  Steve called at 5 to tell me he was on his way home and couldn’t wait to have some soup.  (It’s freezing in Iowa and we got several inches of snow today, so soup sounded really good!)  I told him Keegan ate ALL the soup and ALL the raspberries.  Steve told me to lock the refrigerator and keep Keegan away from it until he got home so there would be something left for him to eat.  LOL  Life with a hungry 17 year old who’s 6’3″!  Good thing we love him so much!

Hope you’re having a great week!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Steve likes to make fudge and people seem to enjoy receiving his fudge as a gift.  I have a Pampered Chef stock pot that Steve uses to make double batches of fudge.  He has “stirred” the coating off the pan.  I wonder if that would be under warranty?  Maybe not, if I tell them how many batches he’s made.  Actually we’ve lost count, even for this season.  He started by making fudge for our Thanksgiving guests.  When our sister-in-law accidentally walked into our next door neighbor’s house instead of ours, I texted them to apologize and let them know the person attempting to break into their home was actually our guest.  They replied that as long as a big plate of fudge would be delivered to them soon, there would be no hard feelings. 🙂  Yes, they’ve lived next door for a long time and their kids and grand kids are all fans of Steve’s fudge.

We gave fudge boxes to the Central Iowa Stampin’ Up demos that came for dinner the end of November.  My stamping team received fudge boxes as well as my BSF group and my leaders.  We made 18 fudge boxes for Steve’s coworkers.  We made fudge boxes for friends and neighbors.  If you know us and didn’t get a fudge box, I’m sorry…maybe it’s still coming or maybe we forgot.  I should’ve kept better fudge records.  Steve is also now accepting orders for fudge.  He had a couple people who wanted a double batch for their extended family coming into town. We’re even trading dog sitting for fudge.  Maybe we should trade fudge with a Pampered Chef rep for a new pan!

All our guests at Thanksgiving went home with a box of fudge like the one below.

Which box is your favorite?  Please leave me a comment at the top of this post.

OK, so somewhere in the holiday festivities I forgot about this post which I wrote the end of December.  I have good news, however.  I did call Pampered Chef the beginning of January and can hardly believe it, but they replaced Steve’s fudge pan!  Steve is absolutely thrilled and will be ready to get started again on fudge next November.

These mini pizza boxes are still available and if you do anything crafty you need to buy some!  They are $6 for 8 boxes and are food safe. #144645

I don’t know if you noticed, but I used to call my husband Steve, Superman, when writing about him in my blog posts.  Steve is a humble Christian man and he was embarassed to be called Superman.  From now on he’s just Steve, but between you and me… I think he’s pretty super!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Marcelyn Monday

Today we celebrate Martin Luther King Jr. Day in the USA. Here’s a famous quote I love from MLK, “Darkness cannot drive out darkness; only light can do that. Hate cannot drive out hate; only love can do that.”

Marcelyn made these gorgeous cards for our Central Iowa Demo card swap.  She used the Hold on to Hope stamp set from the new Occasions catalog.  I love the crosses cut from Silver Foil. I’m excited to show you all the other cards from the swap later this week!

Do you know the best way to get all your Christmas cards done for 2018? Yep, start today! It’s ironic that while Marcelyn was working on 2018 Christmas cards, my family and I were busy dismantling our 2017 Christmas decorations.  On Saturday we got everything taken down and got the main floor cleaned up and back to normal.  We did have one issue, however. Steve and I couldn’t remember where we had stashed the lamp to make room for the Christmas tree.  Steve checked the basement and upstairs.  I pondered while I was busy cleaning.  Later Steve came in and saw the lamp back in place.  “Where did you find the lamp,” he asked?  Would you believe it was sitting on one of the other end tables in the same room?  Hope we aren’t the only ones who do things like this! 🙂

Today is the last day to sign up for our stamp camp, Saturday January 27.  Total cost for all day is $35.  Total cost for only am or only pm is only $20.Please email me today at  Beth@StampingMom.com

If you have any questions or comments for Marcelyn, she would love to get an email from you. marcelynchurchill@msn.com

Keegan performed his Ensemble Acting play for Parent’s Night on Friday. It’s a sad story relating to the 9/11 tragedy.  He performs it again next Saturday.  Love watching Keegan sing and act!  Abby goes back to college tomorrow and I’ve had a heavy heart all day.  I love having my sweet girl at home.  Love you Abigail!
