Superman (my husband, Steve), Ryan, Abby, Keegan and I are all at Family Camp in Okoboji this week!  We wish Sean was here with us too!  We go to a wonderful, Bible-based, Holy Spirit-filled camp.  We’ve gone every year for about twenty years.  It’s so nice to be away from T.V., newspapers and the “noise” of the world and focus on our family and God.

My gardens are doing pretty well this year.  I can’t express how much I enjoy going out each morning to see what I can pick, what needs watered, and how many weeds sprang up overnight.  I’ve always thought the time in the sunshine was making me happy. Recently I ran across a study that says the dirt is also a mood enhancer. “Exposure to friendly soil bacteria could improve mood by boosting the immune system just as effectively as antidepressant drugs, a new study suggests.”  Well, sunshine, dirt, eating cherry tomatoes that taste like candy, whatever it is… it really makes me enjoy my gardens!
