Not sure what to order? Here’s one of my favorites! The Peaceful Poppies Designer Series Paper!
With paper this pretty, even simple cards are gorgeous!
I heat embossed the sentiment with White Stampin’ Emboss powder and cut it out with the Stitched Rectangles dies.
I packaged up sets of three cards and envelopes and added the pretty ribbon to gift to a couple of my dear friends on Christmas Eve. Homemade gifts mean so much! In return, I received homemade spaghetti noodles which I used in my Ziti recipe and it was amazing. My other Christmas Eve friend gave us yummy homemade bread. I was thrilled with the homemade gifts I received. 🙂 Do you make hand stamped cards and give them as gifts? If you don’t, you should!
I love to hear from you, please leave a question or comment at the top of this post.
A few have asked if I sent a Get Well card to Dawn Griffith and yes, I did. Here it is. I was so pleased to find out she loved it! Dawn loves purple and sparkly, so Jean and I designed this card with her in mind. Here’s the post which tells about this card. Here’s the link to the FB Live which tells how to make the Stitched Nested Double Gate fun fold.
Stampin’ Up’s Everything Festive stamp set is only available until Jan 2, 2020. I used it to make this shiny and fun New Year’s card. The Mercury Glass Designer Acetate also retires Jan 2. You can order both of these from my store at the bottom of the post.
Mercury Glass Designer Acetate
We call this card technique a Stitched Nested Double Gate Fun Fold. Jean and I are pretty sure we were the first ones to make this type of card. 🙂 Here’s the link to the Facebook Live video where I show how to make it.
Here’s another card I made with the Stitched Nested Double Gate Fun Fold technique.
More cards made with the Everything Festive stamp set.
The “Merry & Bright” in the center of this sampler is from the Everything Festive set.
These Santa Bird Fudge Boxes were made with the Birds Of A Feather stamp set also retiring Jan 2. Jean and I made 35 of these boxes and handed these out in Lansing as 3-D swaps and RAK gifts. I’m going to miss this stamp set and made good use of it.
My Thanksgiving invitations were made with the Birds Of A Feather stamp set.
Yep, and the Halloween 3 Hershey Nugget Box was also from this stamp set. The only bird I didn’t use was the Rooster with the Heart. I see a Valentine card coming with this.
I was thrilled to find out that I was in the Top 10 of Kylie’s International Highlights last week! Thanks so much to everyone who voted for me!!
The gorgeous Perennial Essence Designer Series Paper (DSP) was the starting point for this encouragement card. The sentiment came from the Band Together stamp set. The gold foil is cut from the Detailed Band dies. The Blackberry Bliss frame was cut using the Stitched Rectangles dies and embossed with the Subtle 3D embossing folder. The flower stamp is from the Beautiful Promenade stamp set. I stamped in Versamark and used Gold Stampin’ emboss powder. The flower and leaves were cut using the Beautiful Layers dies. The card base is Balmy Blue. I added some rhinestones too. If you have any questions, please email me at Beth@StampingMom.com
This is the Magnolia card that was voted into the Top 10. I made this card by fussy cutting the flowers from the Magnolia Lane Designer Series Paper (DSP). You can see more about it here. Both these card use the Detailed Bands dies. Do you have them yet?
Please enjoy checking out the beautiful cards from all the other Top 10 Winners!
Merry Christmas! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. My favorite part of Christmas is celebrating the birth of Christ at my church, Lutheran Church of Hope in West Des Moines, IA. Hope had about 100 members when we joined in 1994 and now is the 18th biggest church in the USA. We have several locations and an online service every Sunday at 11am Central time. Here’s the link to find out more.
This is our son, Ryan, handing out gifts on Christmas Eve. It’s Ryan first Christmas with a real job as a software engineer and the first time he had money to buy gifts for his siblings and parents. He relished picking out special items for each of us and loved handing them out!
After church and celebrating with just the six of us, we always go to our dear friend’s home on Christmas Eve and celebrate with two other families from our original church small group. We break into teams and play a game. The 2019 Christmas champions were our sons, Sean and Ryan, and our sweet friend, Kelly. They are holding up one finger to signify their win. Abby and Keegan were at all the Christmas festivities and were careful to avoid being in the pictures.
Last weekend we celebrated with Steve’s family in Davenport, IA. It was the first Christmas since Steve’s Dad passed away. The 13 grandkids each got one of Grandpa Harold’s signed Chicago Cubs baseballs. Ryan stated he really wanted the “Sammy Sosa” ball. Abby was first to pull out a wrapped ball and it was the one that Ryan wanted. I think Ryan is still in negotiations with Abby trying to do a trade for the prized ball. Grandpa Harold always decorated his house with blue Christmas lights because he and Grandma were big fans of Elvis, who sang, “Blue Christmas.” This year Uncle Bill had a blue light display to honor their Dad.
We also celebrated in Kansas City with my family. The day included really good food, lots of games, Dominos, cards and a family walk. It was 66 degrees, which is the warmest it’s been on Christmas in 50 years! My Dad is 80 and still drives my Mom on their three hour trip to Kansas. He looks forward to being an elf every year at their Independent Living facility. Here’s my Mom sitting on Dad’s lap, Papa Noel in the center and another elf.
Steve, #triguy, is helping to keep the doctors and hospitals in business. His heart ablation in November didn’t actually work, although we thought at first it had been successful. He’s going to Mayo and having a second heart surgery in February. Today he is also having his knee fixed, but it is out patient and we should be home after a couple hours. Please pray for Steve for a successful surgery and quick recovery. Steve says he’s being rehabbed and will be ready to go for the triathlon season starting in May.
The new Mini catalog starting Jan 3, has a set that seems it was made for #triguy. It shows him swimming, running and biking. The biker is wearing a helmet in this stamp set which makes us both very happy. #triguy and our son, #ryguy both had their lives saved by a bike helmet, so we are huge advocates for them. If you get on a bike, please wear a helmet!
