National Encouragement Day is the day following Sept. 11, a day full of hurt, confusion and hopelessness. Sept. 12 seemed an appropriate time to acknowledge the importance of coming together and encouraging others. Encouragement matters. National Day of Encouragement is a day dedicated to uplifting those around us and making a positive impact, no matter the magnitude. It’s that simple. You can encourage one another in many ways including encouraging words, letters, prayers, phone calls and sending cards. I’ve always loved the quote below from Mark Twain.

I have some exciting news to share with you! The most recent Fall Mini catalog has an AMAZING collection of Autumn Themed products. I had a friend who wanted a wedding card in the style of Leanne Ford. First I had to figure out who Leanne Ford is… so I looked her up and found she has collections at Crate & Barrel and Target. A lot of her items are Crumb Cake and Very Vanilla and clean and simple. My favorite card to make is Bermuda Bay and Magenta Madness, bright and happy cards, so I knew I need to scale it back a bit.
I did all of these with Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla and retired Ivory cardstock. Some of the hearts are from the Heart Punch Pack and others from the Stitched Be Mine dies.
The new Wrapped in Texture embossing folder is how I added texture to the hearts and then I sponged a splatter of Crumb Cake on them.
I was looking at my niece’s wedding registry and she had many items that also looked like the style of Leanne Ford. Maybe if I give her one of these cards, she’ll think I’m totally on top of the fashion trend!
