Double Berry Basket Directions
I’ve been making lots of baskets with the new Stampin’ Up! Berry Basket Bigz L Die. This weekend I decided to make one for my dear friend and her family who was hosting us for Easter. They are a family of seven and I couldn’t fit all the Reese’s eggs and other candy I wanted to give for seven people, in one Berry Basket. I decided to “double” the basket and tried different variations of making a larger basket. Here’s the final variation of the Double Berry Basket.
To make this Double Berry Basket cut out three of the main basket pieces and three of the scallop trim pieces and one handle piece. To add extra support for the basket cut two extra pieces 5 3/4 x 2 3/4. I used DSP for the trim and smaller butterfly, but cardstock for the basket and handle to make it sturdy enough to hold that much candy! I used Tombo Mono Liquid Glue for this project. Glue the three trim pieces together in a line. Don’t worry about folding any of the score lines. Cut one of the main basket pieces in two so you have an end piece at each end of the basket. Glue one end piece to the bottom of each of the two main basket pieces.Set the other two main pieces beside each other and glue one of the extra 5 3/4 x 2 3/4 pieces on the top of the two pieces and one to the bottom of the two main pieces. To add the trim, start at one end and leave one scallop off the edge of the end piece. Hold a minute while the glue dries. Leaving the one scallop apply the trim to the side piece and again leave one scallop off the next edge. Continue around the basket and cut off the extra after leaving a small overlap. I attached the handle using brads. I glued the butterlies bodies to the handle. Please let me know if you have any questions. This is actually very easy to make.
