Craft Project Central

Did I tell you I got asked to design for Craft Project Central again in December?  I was thrilled of course. 🙂  What this means for you is ten of my posts in December will show sneak peeks for ten different designer’s projects.  You will also get a chance to win a free subscription to Craft Project Central in December and get detailed instructions for all the projects.  What it means for me is that I get paid to stamp, which makes me very happy.  Everyone should have a job doing something they love to do!

Elegant New Year Party Ensemble made by Julie Warnick.

You can ring in the New Year in style with this Elegant New Year Party Ensemble! The festive Top Hat Centerpiece will bring an element of celebration to your party décor, while the dangling glitter balls add a touch of elegance. The easy to assemble party poppers will be enjoyed by adults and children alike when the clock strikes twelve! Finish off this ensemble with a fun shaker card that can be used as an invitation to or to send a note to welcome in the New Year.

To get instructions to Julie’s project (and many more to come), just subscribe to December at Craft Project Central.

This weekend we have plans to take down the Thanksgiving decorations and put up Christmas.  I bet you’ve done your Christmas decorating already?  Since our Thanksgiving decorations were only up for a couple days due to our construction, I decided to leave them up for an extra week and enjoy them. OK… the real reason I haven’t done it yet, is I have a very large artificial tree I put up in our family room and my family does not enjoy putting the tree together or decorating it.  I needed to give Superman a breather from all the work he’s been doing on the house and give him time to psych up to help me with the tree.  My sister’s family loves putting their tree together, but somehow the “Christmas tree putting together genes” are missing at my house. 🙂

Thanksgiving quilt made by Carol Olson.

I truly did enjoy having this quilted Thanksgiving wall hanging that my Mom made, hanging up for an extra week. 🙂

Please leave a comment and tell me your weekend plans.

Party Animal Gift Bag

I love the new Party Animal Designer Series Paper (DSP). I made this gift bag using one 12 x 12 sheet.  “Open me Already” is from the Stampin’ Up! Balloon Adventures stamp set available beginning Jan 4, 2017.  Do you like the Whitsper White Mini Pompom Trim?  I think it looks adorable on this gift bag.  I love the little birthday hats on all the animals too!

Here’s the directions to make the gift bag and another gift bag I made using the Candy Cane Lane DSP.

At Bible Study Fellowship (BSF) this morning we discussed John 7.  Basically it talks about how God is in control of the world.  It’s very comforting to me, given the things going on in the world today.

This afternoon was my first time to be in my house alone without any construction workers or family members.  My pups and I were very happy to finally have some alone time after a couple of months of people here daily.  Tomorrow the construction guys are back to tidy up a few things on the list.  If you are wondering if I have any regrets about doing the construction, the answer is absolutely not.  We saved, planned and dreamed about it for over twenty years and we truly do love it!

Keegan started taking weekly voice lessons and is pretty fired up about it.  He’s trying out for a solo in his vocal jazz group.

Abby just got done with a big scholarship application.  She is trying to get most of her college paid for so she can afford to go to medical school or grad school to do Alzheimer’s research.  I can’t believe in six months she’ll be graduating from high school.

Steve installed a sound bar on our new TV in the sun room.  It’s amazing how handy he is.  He also washed the pups for me because I’m doing therapy dogs tomorrow.

I hope everything is going well for you during this Advent season.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂

Star of Light Christmas card

I’m hosting this week at the Use Your Stuff Challenge Blog.  The challenge is anything Christmas related- cards, scrapbook pages, gifts, ornaments etc.  Please enter the challenge here.

I made this Christmas card for our Leadership fellowship next week at Bible Study Fellowship (BSF).  We all drew a name and we give the person a card or note and scripture to encourage them.  I drew the name of one of my very sweet friends and I wanted to make her a special card.  Star of Light and the coordinating Starlight Thinlit Dies makes a beautiful, yet easy Christmas card.  There’s a recent trend of “mixing metals” like gold, silver, copper etc.  This card has copper and silver.  What do you think, does the mixing of metals work on this card?

Here’s the inside with the silver embossed sentiment and copper embossed stars.

Remember today is the last day of the Online Extravaganza and there’s another Flash Sale today.  See the details here.

I’m looking forward to organizing my new Stampin’ Studio some more this week and I’m going to make stacks of cards to give as Christmas gifts.  I was out shopping for gifts and was having trouble deciding what to get people and it was very crowded in the stores.  I wasn’t having a lot of fun.   I decided I would be much happier at home making cards for Christmas gifts and hopefully the recipients will enjoy them too!

Blessings,

Beth 🙂
