I used the tear and fold back technique to make this fun card.
During my live video we decided to step up the card and punch out the windows with a 1/2″ circle punch. We also added Wink of Stella to one submarine and Crystal Effects to the submarine shown above.

Here’s the video showing how to make this card.
Please read to the bottom of this post to see all the products I used to make this card and order from my online store. I also have some McCullough Family happenings down there.
This week’s Festive Friday Design Team’s challenge #FF0161 is Alzheimer’s Awareness Month.
My husband, Steve, wrote the following about his Mom, Ruby, who suffers from Alzheimer’s:
“It’s an especially cruel disease, because its victims are trapped within their own bodies, aware of their own decline, but no longer being able to articulate and communicate their thoughts and feelings. They have a strong sense of fear, frustration and despair, as they see the world around them but are unable to participate.
My mother suffers from this disease, and can no longer speak more than a few words at a time, because she cannot remember the words she wants to use. She does not remember my name, but I think she still knows I am her son. When I visit with her, I sometimes see recognition in her eyes. They also light up when she understands what I am telling her, which gives me hope that she “is still in there”. But at the same time, I worry that her “still being in there” may make things worse for her, as she knows that life is going on without her.
My brothers who live in the same town are diligent in visiting her every week, sometimes more than once, just to be with her and make her feel loved. This all we can do at this point, but I believe it is what means the most to her.”
I will add that Steve makes it a point to make the five hour round trip drive every month to see his Mom. He always brings her chocolate, rubs her neck and sings to her. He and his brothers are all doing their best to honor their Mother. Their Dad passed away in 2019 and he would be very proud of all four of his sons and what they do to care for their Mom.

We just spent the weekend in Fort Worth watching Simone Biles and all the gymnasts as they try to make the 2024 Olympic Team. Our Texas kids met us in Fort Worth for a couple days. We enjoyed the gymnastics, playing Euchre (Amy & Steve kept winning), great restaurants and the Fort Worth Stockyards with the Long Horn cattle drive. Their friends, John & Lisa, joined us for a couple days too.
