Sweet Thank You

My very sweet college friend, Sharon, came over today to give me a tutorial on selling on ebay. I have about 15 years of retired Stampin’ Up! stamp sets and it’s time to sell some. (If there’s a specific one you are looking for, let me know and I might have it.) Anyway, Sharon got more than she bargained for, not realizing it would take 2 1/2 hours to get me up to speed. OK, so we did have problems with my very old iPad. Superman if you’re reading this, I could use a new iPad for my birthday! Spending $500 will somehow save you money on ebay sales in the long run.

Well, I knew I needed to make Sharon a card and I love this week’s Global Design Project sketch shown above.

Here’s the inside of Sharon’s card. I’m going to write on a post it note instead of inside the card, so Sharon has a cute thank you to pass on to someone else. I should probably add a couple more cards to thank her also.

I love adding something to the envelope to make it special.

We had such a busy weekend. Superman and I took Abby to her first college visit on Friday. I didn’t bother to tell the college that I will miss Abby terribly and I’m not actually letting her leave home next year. On Saturday we went to the district Individual Speech contest. Abby has never participated in this before and was quite nervous before it started. She did a memorized public address and also a lit program. She was thrilled to get a “1” on both and will be moving on to the state contest. Keegan was busy with a jazz competition for part of the day on Friday and was happy to have the house to himself.

Dad’s 77th Birthday!

It’s hard to believe my Dad is turning 77! He seems so young. Last year when we were in Hawaii, we had a Kayak race and he and Sean won! He was by far the oldest person on our tour that involved kayaking, hiking about two miles in knee deep mud to a waterfall and then swimming at the waterfall. Dad took it all in stride and made it look easy. When he would have my kids visit in North Carolina, he would take them horseback riding, bike riding, climbing waterfalls and white water rafting. Yep, he’s up for the Grandpa of the Year Award!

I used this sketch from SundayStamps for the inspiration for the card. When I showed the card to Superman, he said it looks like Dad must be an Ohio State fan. Well, he’s not. He is a graduate of Iowa State and loves watching Cyclone Football and Basketball. Unfortunately their colors are Cardinal and Gold. Guess I wasn’t thinking.

Can you see the piercing all the way around the oval. I thought it was a nice touch.

Abby thinks one of the best things about Grandpa is all the stories he tells. She’s been taping his stories and hopes to help him write his life story.

Keegan had his audition for James and the Giant Peach today. He thought it went pretty well. I’ll let you know what part he gets. He goes to a big school, so sometimes the part might be Peach Tree #37 or something like that.

When I think of Spring, I think of baskets for Easter and May Day. Here are a couple of my favorite baskets both made with the Stampin’ Up! Berry Basket die. The first basket is the original size of the Berry Basket.

If you don’t have time to make baskets, here’s the easiest treat ever!

In the Occasions catalog, Stampin’ Up! shows the cellophane bags filled with orange M&M’s. See below.

As you can see above, the Kisses don’t fit all the way down to the point, so I taped the extra to the back of the carrot. I bet you’re wondering where I found orange Kisses? Walmart has carrot cake flavored orange Kisses right now. They are yummy! They taste a lot like Hershey’s Hugs.
