Shaving Cream Stenciling

We do five projects per month for the Creative Crew on Splitcoast Stampers (SCS) .  This challenge CCREW917TECH was to choose a technique from the SCS Tutorials Section and make a card using the technique.    I followed the Shaving Cream Stenciling tutorial by Lydia Fiedler. http://www.splitcoaststampers.com/re…eamstenciling/ I typically like to do clean and simple projects, but this one was so much fun, I will definitely do it again.  I had to raid Sean’s bathroom to find white shaving cream.  The rest of my guys use a blue gel that wouldn’t work for this technique.

Speaking of Sean, Steve and I had the joy of going to Seattle to spend a long weekend with Sean and celebrate his 27th birthday!  The weather was perfect and we had a wonderful time.

We got to tour Microsoft where Sean works as a software engineer.  They have a beautiful campus with a museum, company store, and great eating places.

Here’s Sean in his office.  They do everything paperless and even the file cabinet was empty.  He’s been in this office almost a year and there are no pictures or decorations.  Notice the juggling balls on the desk?  He learned to juggle in PE in junior high.  Ever since, when he needs to figure out a difficult problem he just stands up and starts juggling and figures things out.  It appears to me, Sean only requires a good computer and a nice set of juggling balls and he can be effective at his job! 🙂

Sean took us to an outdoor festival and they had a giant size Connect Four game.  I spent hours playing the smaller version of this game with each of my four kids as they were growing up.  Who knew it would pay off?  I beat Sean three games in a row and then beat Steve.  After that no one wanted to play with me, so Sean installed a Connect Four app on my phone so I’d have someone else to beat.

Here’s a selfie we took while waiting to go up in the Space Needle.

I found this rock at the top of the outer deck of the Space Needle. On the back of the rock it said #JCPR on Facebook.  We looked it up and found out in Junction City, Oregon the kids and parents are painting hundreds of rocks and hiding them for people to find.  They ask you to post a pic on Facebook and hide it somewhere else and they are tracking where the rocks travel.  After I posted my pic, I found out a young lady named Sophie had painted the rock and her uncle had helped her weather seal it.  Sophie and her uncle had plans to go to the Space Needle together, but her uncle was tragically killed in a car accident a couple weeks ago.  Nevertheless, the rock found its way to the Space Needle.  God works in mysterious ways.  There’s more to the story, but I’m very touched and have a new friend in Oregon.  Please help me pray for Sophie as she heals from the death of her uncle.

We took a ferry to Bainbridge Island which was beautiful with quaint shops.  We ate a delicious dinner at Doc’s Marina Grill.

The last morning we were there was Sean’s actual birthday so we went to brunch at Lot No. 3 to celebrate.  This is the best cinnamon roll I’ve ever eaten.  The egg and avocado dish was awesome too!

I brought Sean Scotcheroos to take to work and share with his co-workers.  If you are a Paper Pumpkin subscriber keep your boxes, because almost the entire 9 x 13 pan of Scotcheroos fit in two layers in the Paper Pumpkin box.

Blessings,

Beth 🙂
