September 2017 Pal’s Blog Hop

Welcome to the Pals September 2017 Blog Hop. Thank you so much for joining us today. This month our theme is “My Favorite Holiday”.  Sit back and enjoy the view while the Pals treat you with projects for the upcoming Autumn and Winter holidays.

Whether you’re just starting the hop, or have come from a previous Pal’s blog, you’ll find the line-up toward the end of my post to help you move along.

Christmas is my all time favorite holiday, but I couldn’t resist showing you some of the Halloween projects I’ve been working on.

When you open the card, there’s another fun pumpkin hiding inside!  This makes me really happy.  Hopefully the recipient will smile when they find the hiding pumpkin. 🙂

Here’s the Spooky Cat version of the card.  These cards are really fun to make.  Would it surprise you to know that I have six more versions, but I was afraid you might not want to see each one? 🙂

Some people don’t care for Halloween, so I made a Hello Fall! card with the same format.  The Hello Fall! stamp is from the Merry Cafe stamp set.

Here’s the measurements for the card:

Pumpkin Pie base 4-1/4″ x 10-1/2″ scored at 2-1/2″ and 5″

Very Vanilla 4″ x 5-1/4″

Spooky DSP strip 1″ x 5-1/4″  Adhere to bottom of Very Vanilla

Basic Black strip 1″ x 10-1/2″ scored at 2-1/2″ and 5″  Adhere the 2-1/2″ part right above the Spooky DSP.  The black strip is not adhered to anything from 2-1/2″ to 8. Adhere the 8″ to 10-1/2″ to the front of the card

Cajun Craze Circle is largest Stitched Shapes framelits circle

Very Vanilla Circle is the second largest Layering Circle framelit

Pumpkin Pie banner is 1/2″ x 4-1/4″

At the very bottom of this post you can see all the supplies I used to make these projects and also the Halloween children’s book that inspired my family’s love of Halloween and Pumpkin parties.

Thank you so much for hopping with the Stampin’ Pretty Pals today. Please take a minute to mark your calendar for our next hop on October 11, 2017 for “Wicked Folds”. Now hop along using the Blog Hop Line-up below. Don’t forget to leave us a comment. We’d love to hear what you have to say about our Favorite Holiday.  By the way, what’s your favorite holiday?

So every year on Trick or Treat night we used to invite our friends and family over for a Pumpkin Party.  My kids loved having this party because they were inspired by one of our very favorite books called, “Too Many Pumpkins.” I’ve read this book hundreds of times and I can’t wait to read it to my grandchildren someday. With countless unwelcome pumpkins to deal with, Rebecca Estelle turns disaster into a celebration. One day, years and years later, white-haired Rebecca was busy not eating pumpkins when–SPLAT–a giant pumpkin fell off an overloaded truck and smashed into her yard. She buried the mess so she wouldn’t have to look at it, and, as you might imagine, she witnessed a bumper crop the following fall, “Too Many Pumpkins” by Linda White.  Here’s a link to the book.
