Double Step card directions & more…

On World Card Making Day, October 3, I participated in two online events and showed how to make my favorite fun fold of all time, the Double Step Card. This card is awesome for many reasons, including it’s the perfect showcase for a 3″ x 3″ square. You may know our Stamping Mom’s Joy Team make Samplers and often can’t fit all the 3″ x 3″ squares on the sampler since only nine fit on each 12″ x 12″ Sampler. You can make a regular card with the 3″ x 3″ square on the front or you can make an amazing Double Step card showcasing the 3″ x 3″ square! Please click on the picture above to watch the video. I may be obsessed with the Stitched Triangle Dies. I’ve been on a roll making cards of all types with theses dies. My friend, Sharon Hashimoto Burkert made a similar card which I loved. I CASEd (Copy and Share Everything) and turned it into a Vertical Joy Fold card and changed some of the details. Card makers are inspired by each other and things they see in the world. Look around, what inspiration do you see for a card?

Here’s a free pdf to make this card. There’s also a YouTube video showing how to make the Vertical Joy Fold card. Please note the inside card is 3-1/4: x 9-1/4″ scored at 4-5/8″. I made this inside card a little bigger to accommodate the tree. In the video the inside card is smaller. Everything with the outside card is the same. 🙂
