Our sweet grandson, James Glenn was born on Sunday and we are thrilled! His parents don’t want his picture on the internet so I’ll just have to let you know that he is darling! Am I the only one that piles my decorations on the island when I’m taking them down? When everything is gathered up, I fit them in the bins and take them to the basement. Our first prelit Christmas tree ever arrived at our front door this morning. I can’t wait to put it up and decorate it. The last few years I’ve used matching decorations, but this year I’m going back to our meaningful Christmas ornaments we’ve accumulated over the last 37 years. Please leave me a comment and let me know how your Christmas preparations are coming.

We were in Austin, Texas for a long weekend with our two oldest sons and their wives. This is the upstairs of Sean and Amy’s new house. Ryan and Bree flew down, and Steve and I drove to Texas. I love to drive and who wouldn’t want to spend 15 hours in the car each way?!

We spent the night in Waco and I had this delicious breakfast at Chip & Joanna Gaines’ Magnolia Table the next morning. The bacon was amazing! If you plan to visit Waco, email me at Beth@StampingMom.com. We’ve been to Waco on almost every Texas visit over the last three years and I have lots of advice for you, if you want it.

Spice Village is 60 clothing & decor boutiques under one roof. I always find super cute and reasonably priced items at Spice Village in Waco.

I usually make homemade pie crust, but for these mini pies I used Pillsbury and it worked out really well. I got 4 single crust mini pies from each sheet of pie crust and made pumpkin and leaf embellishments with the extra dough.

Amy wanted the mini pumpkin pie.

Steve and Sean wanted mini pecan pies.

Ryan, Bree and I chose mini coconut cream pies. This pie is made with my dear friend, Donna’s, homemade pudding recipe. Everyone was happy with their mini pies. Sean made brisket on his smoker/grill and it was delicious! We all loved Amy’s specialty loaded mashed potatoes. I also made our family favorite, Corn Casserole. It was fun to celebrate Thanksgiving with our kids in Texas. Amy’s table and the entire house was decorated beautifully.

We also had fun going to Wurstfest and doing the polka. You can see those pictures and Sean in his lederhosen  here.
