April Pal’s Blog Hop

Welcome to the Stampin’ Pretty Pals’ Blog Hop!

This month, the theme is See How My Garden Grows. We hope to inspire you with our creations today! You will find the lineup at the end of my post to help you “hop” along from Pal to Pal.

Stampin Up Paper Florist Double step card and Spring Samplers designed by demo Beth McCullough. I made two beautiful Samplers this month using the squares from Stamping Joy Club 3″ square swap. The Samplers have everything that reminds me of my gardens- flowers, butterflies, birds and unfortunately bunnies. We try to keep the bunnies out since they eat everything. My husband, Steve, pointed out that my gardens don’t have turtles, but I bet some do. 🙂

You can mount your squares on the white cardboard that comes in the Designer Series Paper packs. You can also use colored cardstock or DSP. Each square is so unique and beautiful! If you don’t have a use for Samplers, you can also make the squares into beautiful cards.

Here’s my square made into a card.

Measurements & Details

  • Sweetly Scripted stamp set-Online Exclusive
  • Basics 3D embossing folder- Online Exclusive
  • Paper Florist dies-Retiring soon 50 % off
  • Melon Mambo cardstock (CS) 5-1/2″ x 8-1/2″- card base
  • Azure Afternoon CS (2) 3/4″ x 3″
  • Azure Afternoon CS cut with Stylish Shapes largest square

Directions to cut the Double Step card base:

With the short side of the card base at the top, line up the left edge in the Paper
Trimmer at 1” (2.5cm). Cut from 3-¼” (8cm) down to 7-½” (18.5cm)

Move paper over to 4-½” (12.4cm) and again cut from 3-¼” (8cm) down to 7-½”
(18.5cm). You now have two parallel cut lines.

Turn paper to the left with the long side at the top and the cuts toward the right side.
Score from the top down to cut line at 3-¼”, 6-½” and 7-½”. (8cm, 16cm, and 18.5cm).
Turn the paper over so you can do the same thing with the other long side at the top.

With the long side still at the top, put the left edge at 4-¼” ( 10.5cm) and score between
the cut lines from 1” down to 4-½” ( 2.5cm down to 12.4cm)

Burnish score lines with Bone Folder.

Anything But A Card Blog Hop

Here’s the project I made for this month’s Creativity Abounds tutorial bundle. It’s a treat tote! See more details further down in this post.

Last week was OnStage, the Stampin’ Up convention in Houston, Texas. I wanted to make a little something for my friends I would be seeing there. We had about 2,000 people with matching (amazing) backpacks that we were given to us by Stampin’ Up. I thought having a luggage tag with their name on it would help my friends always know which bag was theirs. It would also be great for travel if they put their full information on the back side of the name tag.

Measurements & Details

  • 2-1/8” x 3-5/8” Balmy Blue CS
  • Mini Alphabet Dies- Azure Afternoon CS letters
  • Give it a Whirl Dies- heart- Melon Mambo CS
  • Online Exclusive basics 3D embossing folder
  • 3/8” Sheer Ribbon Combo Pack- Azure Afternoon
  • Simply Elegant Trim-Silver

My kids are all adults now and they still love Reese’s peanut butter treats as much as they did when they were kids. Easter eggs, pumpkins, Christmas trees…they like them all! In a couple weeks I am blessed to be a Grandma for the first time and when my grandson is old enough, I envision making Reese’s holiday treats for him, too. Less than four weeks to go until the due date and I’m giddy with excitement! Please leave me a comment and let me know what you make for your kids or grandkids. New Grandma advise is always welcome, too!
