I was thinking of Maya, our first family dog when I made this card.
Here is our sweet pup, Maya. She’s a Bichon-Shih Tzu mix, or teddy bear dog. She was born in 2007. She is soft and cuddly, just like a teddy bear. She’s been working as a therapy dog in memory care and elderly assisted living for nine years. It’s hard to color a black and white dog especially when her face is mostly black. She always wears a red harness so the people we visit can tell her apart from her sister, Molly, who always wears purple. Maya convinces each person she sits with that they are her best friend. Hence, the “you have a friend in me,” sentiment is perfect.
Do you have Stitched Seasons Framelits yet? I love their layered look. I ended up with a left over polka dot piece after I made the card below. Two cute polka dot cards with one piece of DSP!
Tip- I colored everything with Blender Pens except the background, for which I used Aqua Painters. The Real Red and Melon Mambo hearts are retired, but look so cute on these cards. 🙂
