Stampin Up Convention was awesome!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Sunday, July 25th, 2010Swap cards for convention. At Stampin’ Up conventions most people bring card fronts to trade with other demos and get new ideas and great card samples. Here are my big shot flower cards in three different color designs. The first two use the new Love Letter DSP on page 173. The colors are basic black, riding hood red and very vanilla. The flower is a bigz clear die called “Flower” found on page 207. This is one of my favorites right now. It is also used a lot for making quilts. The third flower card uses Sweet & Sour Specialty DSP found on page 172. These colors are very vanilla, pumpkin pie and rose red. The cards also use several circle and oval punches on page 203. I spent four days with my upline and good friend, Lori, in Salt Lake City, Utah. We had a wonderful time! I will show you my Christmas swap (only 153 days until Christmas, so think about what your Christmas card will be) and show you many of the beautiful swap cards I received over the next several days. Please stop back often and leave a comment so I know there’s someone out there reading this. :) Oh… I almost forgot, all the flowers are embossed with the big shot embossing folder called vintage wallpaper on page 214.

I really like the Stampin Up Sweet Pea Paper Stack. I can’t wait to make every color combination. I also used Whisper White paper, Old Olive Satin Ribbon page 13 of the summer mini catalog, Sincere Salutations and Hello Again stamp sets. (I got Hello Again free during Sale A Bration) I also used my eyelet border punch which has become a favorite of mine recently. You’ll find this on page 187 of the Stampin Up Idea Book and catalog. This card idea came from Inking Idaho. Becky Roberts has a great blog. On the envelope I used the Scallop Circle punch and cut between the petals and the 3/4 in circle punch, on pages 186 & 187.

Thank you card using SAB retired set
Wednesday, July 22nd, 2009
My kids were lucky enough to go boating a few weekends ago, so we made a thank you card to send to the hosts. I used the SAB 2009 set, So Many Scallops, In Full Bloom is where I got the stem and the sentiment came from Sincere Salutations. The paper and ink is Regal Rose, Riding Hood Red and Old Olive. The flower print paper is a single sheet from Michael’s purchased last week. It matches the Stampin Up colors really well. The scallop circle punch is my favorite. I also used the1/2 inch circle punch for the center of the flowers. The flowers are raised with dimensionals. I cased this card from Nancy Riley at istamp.com. See her card here I really like Nancy’s blog. She always has awesome cards. My son just taught me how to do the link so I can show the card I used for inspiration.
If you are a Stampin Up customer or hobby demo, don’t feel like you can’t use retired products. I’m going to try and make a lot of cards using retired Stampin Up products so you can be inspired to use everything you already own. If you make cards with retired products, please send me a link and I’ll show them here.
I want to have another LNO (Stamp A Stack) in August, so watch for details coming soon.

Bible Verse cards for my Bible study
Saturday, January 24th, 2009I made 16 of these cards for the gals in my Bible study. They all had a different verse, flower color or ribbon color. I also had these at my LNO class this week. The cards are simple, yet elegant. I always stamp the envelope to match the card. At my classes, the gals always go home with matching envelopes too.
